Stripe just bought Openrouter for 7 to 7.5 billion. They couldn't do both...
Stripe has got no money... They were simply trying to strike the deal of their life. Come back when you are publicly listed and have real money.
@bn it was absolutely a horrible low ball offer that should have been rejected. However, it's also true that this is the worst management team in Corporate America, steering a rudderless failboat. Is the company undervalued, certainly. Can these id--ts do anything except trim perceived fat? The only wise thing to do from here would be to accelerate the BuyBacks. The entire board should have been fired for their awful performance over the last 5 years.
@bh well the management team has been kind of lackluster since we parted from eBay. And it was a cooperate raider who came in and sp-t us off. Without covid PayPal stock would have hovered around 100 i bet. We have had more layoffs since the company went public without eBay. the enshitification of a company begins with management teams and ends when they jump ship to another company to latch on to.
I feel sorry for employees at this place. You will either get laid off or be stuck under the worse management team in history. It has to be miserable.
This whole thing just seemed shady and a news release in the middle of the night going into a Friday confirms. It’s got market manipulation written all over it.
Stripe was looking for a very opportunistic move. They saw a huge bargain and were looking to steal value from shareholders. Must agree with Enrique for once.
Seems like this company just can’t do anything right.
