Was given a choice to voluntarily resign or rebadge to HCL. If I resign, i'll lose all my stock rewards, bonuses and potential severance. Also I can't file for unemployment. What a freaking joke. HCL is going to outsource my job anyway. Sc--wed either way by big red.

@gs Oh yeah about that. We are blocked from applying internally. Basically they told the department we want you gone. HCL or quit. So over VZ
If you don't resign and move to HCL you still lose stock rewards, bonuses and potential severance.
They will try to say it will be similar but once you move off the payroll you work for another company and v team has no say in what happens to you at that point.
If I were in your shoes I would probably try and find a different position on v team unless they blocked you from doing that, which they probably have if I had to guess (speculation)

In Intl, anyone moved to HCL and then Riffed, were given the Verizon redundancy package. I seem to recall it wad protected for two years.
What group? finance, it?
Get a lawyer and have them contact VZ ethics department immediately. Your better off being riffed as a VZ employee. Tell the lawyer other employees were given voluntarily separation packages.
@a1 yep think of it as a soft rif. Get pay and benefits and actively look for something else while employed.

I would suggest calling your elected officials, they can do nothing now but need to be aware of the offshore and onshore visa abuse, for the next time.
Severence is only kept if HCL lets you go within the the contracted scope or whatever is specified. Outside of the contracted scope, (even by a day) severence and etc are a lost and you officially work on HCL terms.

If you rebadge you get to keep them even though you would be employed by another company based out of another country?
Re-badge to HCL. You will at least get another years pay.
