Just hit 20 years. And in those 20 years my supervisors have never done anything for any of my milestone anniversaries.

@cx This has nothing to do with age and everything to do with what they pay you.
ICs with 10+ years exp are pulling in well above $250k annually to do…well, nobody knows, exactly.
I know it really bruises your egos that someone in the third world can do your job for a fraction of the cost (especially when they have darker skin), but that’s the reality. If you’re really that good, you should have no trouble finding another job that pays better. So, go f’n do it.

Your insecure younger boss will probably feel threatened by the fact that you know more than them.
In response it is more than likely that your rankings will begin to fall. It’s a natural progression so they can NSI you for no reason whatsoever after you eclipse the age of 50.
You will be nice and disgruntled at 55, accepting whatever offer you can get to hit the road.
The future is so bright you have to wear shades.

You get an allowance to plan a celebration. But the general planning is your responsibility. We don’t have a ton of admins and party planners out there to do it for you.
