My boss keeps making consequential statements in supervisor calls, allowing people to react to them, and then later reframing or correcting what she originally said. It’s maddening.
The whole team then misunderstands or panics over her statements badly enough that she has repeatedly needed to issue corrections.
She literally said we need to meet a target if we want to ‘get fired with severance’ basically saying if we didn’t meet the target we’d be fired without severance. Then backtracked several weeks later as everyone was freaking out. This is just one but probably the most egregious example of the kind of spewing in these meetings.

And you feel the need to spew your inability to manage your manager on a layoff site?
If you haven't already tried this, one of you could send an email after each call (cc: entire team) summarizing her points in a numbered list and ask her to correct or clarify the list if needed. You could take turns maybe.
