Toxic work culture that affects the mental health on a daily basis. People have no ethics or decency and order around subordinates like slaves. This can be seen right from upper management passing down to the teams. Unrealistic expectations with tight deadlines and limited headcount just make things worse and if you complain you are being treated like you are the source of problem. I have never seen such a bad atmosphere anywhere in previous companies,

Don’t worry ford will not be around too long it will soon ask the government for a bailout like a puppy dog as a last resort. They have had way too much time to fix the company but they have not so time is running out now. It is the next sears if you study history. Management making a toxic culture will only speed up the inevitable. They will get their bonuses and fire the average worker to take the fall.
FMC is a social company, not an engineering-focused one.

You know what's kind of funny, the toxic types, when they get exposed they can't even be near you without looking largely (uncomfortable) because they know they're evil.
Some of these bigger companies (like Ford) run off pure inertia and have successful segments despise of themselves. Untits that can't help but make money because it's such a win no.matyer who is (or isn't) running it - Ford Pro...the Sprinter, Super Duty. You know, the business lines that don't need anyone running them and just need parts. Meanwhile politics are played and premadonnas run rampant in the business units that hemmorage capital and stick out like hemroids on the balance sheet.
@a9 There was that expose a few months back about metal shavings being left in the aircraft leading to short/open circuits when they ground the wires. Whew. Fly by wire and the wires are getting abraded. Yikes.

@d7 Henry was a no nonsense saint compared to these people. The toxic culture today makes it impossible to do your job stems from the Ford families total lack of common sense and values. Now you have DEI "champions" running around playing games all day with those of us that actually worked for our positions.

Back in the 90s, the culture at Ford was pretty good. Management actually cared about the customers and were pretty decent to the employees.
Ford has always had a “toxic culture”. It goes all the way back to Henry Ford himself who, surprise surprise, was not that great of a human being. Your best move is to find a better job elsewhere and leave Ford.
I’m so tired of snowflakes complaining because they are getting asked to perform in their job. You are being paid well to do your job and part of that is dealing with the environment and deadlines. If you can’t handle it, quit.
@a9 Yes, Boeing is extremely toxic, Boeing takes "toxic" to a whole new level. I quit after a year and a half, the uber toxic culture combined with incompetent DEI managers who liked to "AX questions" was too much. It just boggles the mind that this company still exists. It's no surprise to me that those 2 brand new 737 Maxes crashed and the door blew off that new Alaska Airlines MAX. Boeing is a real SHOLE company.
You need to come work at Boeing Company, especially in St Louis. You would be in total shock how toxic St Louis Boeing is and how people who are not in the Buddy Club get back stabbed, abused and blamed, even when the issue is non-doable from the start like an impossible due date to meet. A lot of the people working at Boeing in St Louis won't bat an eye stabbing their so-called buddies in the back or throwing them under the bus.
I protect myself as best as I can working here. I don't talk to coworkers, my Lead or Manager and work as hard as I can to complete impossible assignments with unrealistic due dates.
St Louis has been rated at the top of the list as the most dangerous high crime city year over year for the last 30 years. But Nashville took number one recently, but St Louis is bound to win it back. Don't believe any St Louis locals who try to tell you it's not true that St Louis is dangerous. Because it is.
