What is happening with the Albuquerque site? My friend tell me they do not get profit sharing there and some other benefits. He also say they have to share the building with a government agency. This sounds very strange to me. Is this really true? Why is this like this?

This comes up all the time. Guess there’s no definitive answer. My guess would be competitively, they don’t have to.

Yep. I think its because they think of us as lower class, uneducated, brown people. I've seen it in the way we are talked down to, relegated to do work other locations don't want. My division is spread across 6 different locations and we do more work (I have the tools that show the metrics), and more of the difficult work. I wish I could post some of the zoom meetings publicly, proving how awful we are talked down to. The press would be going wild .
Yes. Its true. We do not get profit sharing and we get paid about 20% less than what our counterparts do in other locations. When asked abt it we are told they don't pay us the same "because they don't have to". Way to go Fidelity with your Equity cr-p.
They closed the fitness center abt 3 yrs ago with no explanation. They then partitioned off half of the building (which has a capacity of abt 1800)... a couple years passed and now that half of the building is rented out to the state of New Mexico. We also cannot park in the parking lots nearest to the building asvthey gave those to our new tenants.
When Fidelity first came to NM, they were lured here by unheard of tax breaks and promised to stay in place for a certain amt of time. I getcthe impression they are abt to expire.
And shame on the execs here that haven't advocated for your employees to be treated the same as other locations.

@f7 Your response says a lot more about the lack of understanding than it does about the actual issue. Management has not been transparent about profit-sharing eligibility at the time of hire, and it’s hard not to question whether that omission is intentional—especially when employees are expected to discover the reality after the fact.
The entire policy feels inequitable, overly target-driven, and completely disconnected from the experience of employees at the local site. And if you want evidence of how much opportunity is actually being created for NM associates, just look at the number of open positions.
We shouldn’t have to feel grateful simply because Fidelity has brought jobs to New Mexico while simultaneously being expected to accept unequal treatment without question. That isn’t appreciation—it’s complacency.
And yes, I absolutely believe there is discrimination at play here. If you genuinely can’t see it, then maybe stop telling people to be grateful and start asking why so many employees are raising the same concerns.

Think of it this way. Those jobs would be Filipinos’ if not for cheaper labor cost in New Mexico.
ABQ was started to provide operations at a lower cost for ECM market in 401k. Fewer benefits, no profit sharing. ABQ wouldn’t exist at Fidelity without this setup.
Profit sharing wasn’t taken from them. They never had it and people are hired there knowing they don’t get it.
@dk - it really is an injustice that Abq doesn’t get profit sharing. And normally I would speak out, but you know what would happen, they would lower the profit sharing rate for the rest of us because that’s how she wants to nickel and dime the little guys that are doing the work and making her rich. Watch the media find out and then will reduce or take profit sharing away from the rest of us. Typical billionaire.

It is true they do not get profit sharing at all. Fidelity has determined their pay is comparable for the area, and won’t do profit sharing for them.
I was shocked when I heard this too, years ago. So basically, Albuquerque is not as valued to Fidelity as the other sites. At least this is what it looks like to me when I read Fidelity’s actions.
Would be nice if Fidelity valued all their sites, but sadly not the case.
