Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

PayPal Has Lost Its Way

We do not need a stay of execution; we need certainty and security.
Leadership has lost its humanity in what was once a great company, where people genuinely came first. PayPal is no longer a company I’m proud to work for.

I would welcome the opportunity, if given the appropriate platform, to publicly and constructively critique the decisions and leadership approach that have brought us to this point. People deserve transparency, accountability, and to be treated with dignity—not uncertainty and fear.

@dq no good leader would touch this place with a 10 ft pole.

Exactly this. 10 years ago it was a 'People Rule' and 'Best place to work' company, that gave it its strength.
Now, people basically feel like being an inconvenience to the bonzos, that they would get rid of the minute they could.
It is really sad to experience.

Nice post. How else do you think a company goes from $300 a share to all time lows around $50 a share? Like this.

How does PayPal keep getting these mo--ns for CEO? This was once a great company and they have made two ridiculous CEO hires in the last few years.

Stripe will be able to start buying shares in the $40’s soon. It would have been d-mb for them to buy at $60/share. Enrique will hand this company over to them even cheaper.

It was smart for Stripe to walk away. Why pay $60 when you can buy for $50?

@a5 plus they changes the salary ranges which made many people pass mid or even high point so they don’t have to give you pay rises including the minimum inflation rate

Enrique is a mo--n and nobody within the company or outside can understand what he’s doing.

@a8 I don't work at Paypal but genuinely feel bad for the employees being strung along. However, while my own employer is often seemingly heartless too, I have never wondered whether or not there's smart people in charge who know what they're doing. Somebody much smarter than me came up a plan and executed it. No, I certainly don't agree with everything they do, but I don't dispute the abilities of my c-suite.

Was stripe's offer insulting? Yep, definitely should be at least $80 a share given Paypal's FCF, the fat that can be trimmed, as well as many synergies. However, it's also true that the board is completely useless and nobody out there has any faith in them executing any type of organic turnaround. I hope they chop the company into pieces and sell it someone who can actually do something with it. These losers have been given too many chances and always failed.

It's not worth caring about anymore

They know exactly what they are doing to employees with this bullcr-p. It's not an accident that they have ki-led morale across the whole company.

Enrique isn't that stupid,he simply doesn't give a rats a-s about the employees

@OP Alex was a fishy choice, Enrique was fishier. Our CPO I Cruz openly called Wellness Days silly and unnecessary. After those were taken from us and then sabbaticals she then had her HR and Talent Management teams target Dan Schulman era talent. Alex wanted to wash his hands of Schulman and I suspect he directed her to do these things. Our once beautiful culture was erased from December 2023 onward. I don’t even recognize this company any longer. Enrique is just a massive wtf.
