Seriously it's hilarious to me how much complaining there is here. Apparently going to the office 5 days a week and actually doing your job instead of taking naps at home is a travesty. Are you guys serious?
I started working here in 2025 as a new grad from college and this place is fu--ing fantastic. I interned here as well. I have fantastic mentorship and am constantly, and I'm also on track for a promotion by the end of the year. This is one of the best companies to work for.
@dy You admit yourself that you have nothing to compare it to—no experience outside Fidelity and barely a year on the job—yet somehow you're still speaking like you know what you're talking about. @cr You're right that I don't have other companies to compare to. But pretty much every other competitor has similar issues. You think i should go to jpmorgan which has the same issues in terms of RTO and layoffs? Or a smaller company where my growth and mentorship will stall, as well being paid much less? There are very few major corporations that have a better culture than fidelity

@OP It's pretty bold to dismiss people who've been working longer than you've been out of diapers, especially when you've only got a year of experience yourself.
Ah, to be young, newly hired and already certain that you understand the place. I too was once bright-eyed and eager, volunteering for everything, chasing promotions, and proudly telling people that I “bled green.” Then I stayed long enough to see behind the curtain.
Fidelity has some excellent people, good benefits, and can be a terrific place to start a career. But when you’ve only worked there, you have no basis for comparison and considering that you started in 2025, you certainly have no idea what the company used to be.
Enjoy the enthusiasm. I genuinely hope it lasts. Just don’t mistake being new to the building for understanding the building.

No one is taking naps at home. If you just started out of college, you have no idea how good it used to be compared to this. Sounds like your opinion on the subject isn’t worth much.
Having worked for a few companies in my career, Fidelity is the only one I would describe as toxic. I'm not saying it's a terrible company, it really has some great perks. But the dysfunction as you climb the ladder really dampens the experience.
