I am resigning to work at another company that is in our industry but much smaller. Will they walk me out as soon as I resign? If so I don’t want to give two weeks notice.

@e2 nope. I was not NSI but am not happy with the year on year drops they have decided to send my way since I hit mid 40-s in age after always being assessed higher. No more RSUs so I am out of here before the Pip me.

Generally yes.
Texas' work at will makes it so easy.
It varies group by group, just assume they will escort you out the same day. I’ve seen it happen too many times recently
Why are you giving them any notice?
If they fired you for two NSIs they would not demonstrate the same courtesy.

I think, somebody estate before me. If you need the money, give them the two weeks notice , if not , just resigned. It does not matter if you burn those so called bridges; at the end EM will not accept you in the future.EM like some operators wants to feel that they have the power at the end when people resigned and they are not giving the opportunity to stay the two weeks..Do not allow them to happen in their way.Remember you own your future, not them.Besides, that kind of cr-p like if you will not given the two weeks notice, your unprofessional, but more unprofessional is not to give you the weeks as well.
Typically if you give two weeks notice you will be paid for those two weeks, even if they walk you out same day or before the end of the two week period, so financially it’s to your advantage to give two weeks notice. The exception I suppose is if you really want/need to be gone faster.
I was with Denbury. I retired/resigned (right as XOM was about to start paying my check) and gave two weeks notice. I did it at the end of the day. I came in the next day, and they said the day after that would be my last day. Others were walked out the day they gave their two weeks notice (but they were going to other companies, not retiring).
It depends Two years ago, I told my manager that I was going to resign to take a leadership role at another company, I told my manager that I can leave today or two weeks from the time I officially resigned. Three weeks priorto resigning, I began remove my personal items from my office fully prepared to walk out the door once i communicated to my manager that i was resigning. I stayed the additional two weeks to transition with my backfill. Seeing the look on my manager face was priceless when i resigned. I now sleep well at night, look forward to Mondays and to have to worry about a sispool culture. Life is better outside ExxonMobil 😌
