The worst part of hating your job is knowing you can't quit until you find another one. And you can't find another one these days unless you fully devote your time to job search, which is impossible if you already have one. It's a trap that has me stuck at Elevance despite my deep hatred for this place.

In Carelon Insight, my role is generalist. Basically I am treated as a sub human, good for knowledge extraction. It's so demoralizing.
If there is a good project, I will do the tech portion for people to take over later on.
Want to move from a virtual Florida location to a virtual Georgia location? Too bad. Even if you were hired 100% remote, you now have to live in one of their overpriced cities. Gross.
@j9 I’ve also noticed a lot of Directors are exempt from going into the office. I also saw one moved to a place where there isn’t an office. If an underlying needed to move say because a spouse get relocated they would have to get permission to move and if not near a pulsepoint probably lose their job. The double standard is never ending here.
You wont get promoted sadly, these directors are dug in. This is their dream job - come and go as they please, endless PTO, all they have to do to harass the people who report to them and those below that. Along with telling the VP that they are so insightful, so brilliant, etc. How do I know, I work with them. They won't get promoted either but they don't care this is the gravy train of their dreams

It took me a a few months actively researching and applying outside of Elevance. I was lucky enough to land a new opportunity. I didn’t need to dedicated full time to my search, but I did need to be very focused on what roles I was applying for. There is a beautiful future outside of Elevance.
It is a trap but all you can do is vote with your feet. Keep trying. Remember that no one gets jobs by spamming applications, it's always referrals. Keep your head up and know you're better than this place and deserve something better. Be realistic about timing - it's going to take a while to get out. Accept that the quality of your work will decline while you put in the hours reconnecting with acquaintances at companies you want to work for.
I’ve applied for so many jobs at Elevance and have never heard a single thing back. No one is going to give me a promotion, so I try to look out for myself and what do I get? Silence, crickets. Reaching out to the recruiters is like talking to a brick wall. It’s puzzling
