My team is bizarrely, non-sensically light on work right now and what are we being told for weeks? “Sit tight, it’ll pick up soon.” Uh sure.

Now we are being told to use the time to “upskill” and literally do Udemy trainings (…?) and compliance courses that aren’t due til November 30.

Now tell me that layoffs aren’t happening soon. We are dead men and women walking.

I’m going to guess this dip is due to voluntarily attrition due to the climate in the company and not part of the formal layoffs. Just guessing though.
