Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

A Message for the Spacex D-mbasses

Verizon is not for sale. Verizon will never be for sale. Spacex is not looking to buy Verizon, spacex will never be looking to buy Verizon. Satellite is no competition for terrestrial networks. Satellite will never be competition for terrestrial networks. Shut the fu-k up already.

@kp if I haven't a clue what he gives to charities then its fair to say you haven't a clue either correct. As for a bizarre analogy that only seems bizarre because you lack the ability to comprehend . To the educated it was laid out very clearly. And why worry about Somalis ? The current administration is enricheing themsevles and laughing all the way to mar a largo and elon we need to worry about . You know that guy that wouldn't pi-s on you if you were on fire !

@ek what an absolute bizarre analogy. You haven’t a clue what he gives to charitable organizations. Why don’t we just remove the fraud from those enriching themselves from charities first and see how that goes? The Somalis are laughing all the way to Somalia with their bags of cash through the Twin Shi tties airports.

So SpaceX doesn’t need Verizon but Verizon needs SpaceX…hmmm

@a4 If you'd get up off the floor from licking Elon's boots you might learn that the CWA just got a four year contract extension. How's your SpaceX stock doing? It's ok though, the money men who broke the rules to require including it in the indexes immediately already made their billions on it, and after all isn't that what's really important here?

Everything is for sale, for the right price.
Why do you think Verizon is not for sale ? because our brilliant "leadership"?.... our "great" heritage ? They will sell the carpet from under you if they can make a buck ! Wake up ... (or not )...

@b9 landlines are objectively better for voice calls. No debate. Depends on what you are comparing. Comparing internet between the two? Not a comparison and silly. Voice to voice POTS wins hands down. Cell phone offers convenience not betterness.

@bx elon has a choice spend his trillion on trying to cure childhood cancer and feeding the poor or creating a 4TH wireless company ,he is going with cell phones and internet. DON'T EVER FORGET THAT!

Ok... time to learn Never say Never.

In 1955 the first ranking of Fortune 500 Companies were ranked.

Today, only 49 of those Companies remain. They are know as the "70 Year Club"

Verizon will definitely be aquired, merger of equals.... it's math.

Both correct and incorrect, VZW is and always will be for sale, however, satellite, doesn't have the power for inbuilding let alone car penetration, hence the antenna development. It is also has reliability issues compared to fiber, which is why VZB already handles all of Elons earth based backhaul, ov its fiber. That said, Elon taking control of a US or any cellular network that is in place that already has the infrastructure in place to use SpaceX as the backhand to the cell sites, oh, and don't forget inbuilding High speed internet in dense city areas already built, like VZW has already done for him with the Tanglewood project, it does look like current leadership is slimming things down to get a higher price for when Elon makes a bid to buy large shares of VZ equity. Not that Elon just went public on anything lately and is sitting on stacks of liquid cash or anything 🤔

I probably can guess and organization this is coming from on the wireline side but this is the reason the company does not do well...uniformed, no vision, no forward thinking and no embracing of new tools and technology. If Elon is interested then he and his team know how they would leverage a telecom network both wireline and wireless sides. Its all about who has the most customers and lowest costs. So it would not be surprised and btw take a look at the stock today:)

@b9 it’s literally physics. Satellite tech has been around for a very long time. It just doesn’t work well in densely populated areas for mobile/internet services.

@bc @bc Could we say landlines would be the least affected by a “Carrington” event?
As far as Elon, much respect and I believe he innovates and employs people so they can pay their mortgage, car loans, etc so the ignorance of hate is funny to watch but to him I’d just say, “Don’t call us chile we’ll call you”. https://youtu.be/d6fFI8VQci8?is=8DK0uIx6a2OHgCFh

The commercial opens in Times Square as every billboard suddenly turns rainbow and a gigantic crystal pineapple rises from beneath the street, splitting open to reveal Dan reclining on a velvet chaise in a hot-pink sequined suit, lime-green cowboy boots, and a cape made from hundreds of fluttering rainbow fans. Dan stands, surveys the crowd, and announces, “New York, your signal is strong—but your fruit levels are dangerously low.”

A blast of disco erupts as drag queens dressed like glamorous strawberries, bananas, cherries, and peaches descend on aerial ribbons, while leather daddies ride sparkling scooters, bears perform synchronized jazz hands. The music stops when an enormous golden fruit bowl rolls onto the stage carrying the Supreme Council of Fabulousness: a leather daddy, a drag monarch, a pastel-clad self-described si--y, a muscle bear in angel wings, and an elderly g-y couple wearing matching sequined tuxedos. They surround Dan for a dance called The Unlimited Fruit Salad, featuring dramatic fan snaps, hip bumps, exaggerated hair flips, a human conga line shaped like the Verizon checkmark, and Dan being tossed into the air while shouting, “No pits, no limits, no dropped calls!”

@b9 technically landlines are actually more secure ,more dependable when calling 911, sound clearer, have no dead zones and are cheaper so they are in theory better than cellphones. But I see what you're saying saying.

"Satellite is no competition for terrestrial networks. Satellite will never be competition for terrestrial networks."
The same was said about cell phones when they came out and how land lines would always be better.

pout all you want but Dan the old hag will most certainly sell VZ business and then will fail to sell off wireless assets. Elon will win spectrum action and F us hard. Verizon is done

That is a strong and confident denial. And what have we learned about strong, confident denials? Anyone who didn't believe it will believe it now because it must be in the works.

“Verizon will never be for sale” is naive and deep down you know it. It’s been a bad decade for us and that’s being nice.
