we’ve been told in the utilization review department in Medicare that we have too much staff but that’s OK because we’re all going to be trained on epic so too much staff right now is a good thing for coverage. That sounds like we will have layoffs of all the extra staff after epic is put in.really hoping they’ll be an early retirement package offer. Does anyone have any news?

Bring it on baby ! I am ready to kiss this he-l hole goodbye!!!!
yes, it was very recently just last week. The person over the entire UM department told us we were overstaffed, but that was just fine because epic is coming in and we need the staff well what the he-l happens when epic is done coming in? It was in the news that we’re losing 600,000 members and only 40% of those are going to be recaptured. Are we going to get enough in the open enrollment to cover all this extra staff, I don’t think so so what’s gonna happen? There doesn’t seem to be any other possibility but layoffs, but of course she won’t say that no matter how much one of the people on our team tried to pin her down she just talked around it with corporate speak really hoping once they know how many people come on board with open enrollment we will know how many staff they need to let go and they’ll just offer an early retirement. I mean, I suppose either way or let go and you get some form of the severance package right if you’re laid off there’s a severance package?
Any news of early retirement being offered to T&S CMs or CCM?
@ew this was recently?
My RN UM team was told the same. When has Humana ever been ok with being over staffed?
They offered my team from marketpoint early retirement, sad to hear this for our teams.
It’s the new Human. Expect yearly layoffs and ERP.
