I truly want to thank the leadership team for finally ending the nightmare of a productive, comfortable home environment. I’ve desperately missed the thrill of the morning commute and the illusion of "cross-team collaboration." Since my ultimate goal is to never leave the building, please let me know if I can volunteer my weekends to help the janitorial staff empty the recycling bins. I’d hate to miss out on even a single second of this vibrant workplace culture

@gm I hope certain people have learned about hygiene upon returning - the amount of BO I used to smell pre-covid would choke a horse. That includes the women who tried to cover their stench with some God-awful perfume they obtained while in college in the worlds largest democracy
@bp don't worry - everyone will get a nice green mask to wear when they return and you'll have to report your vaccine status, std test status and whether you wash your hands after p**ping to compliance quarterly - welcome back kids!!!!

@dw Yes the most talented people who can easily find a job elsewhere will be the ones to leave once the bonuses hit. Certainly it's smart business policy to lose a good chunk of your most talented employees, right?
@c0 Pay has not kept up with inflation. Not even close. We were still losing money working from home. Just not as much.
They are going to have to increase the frequency of bathroom cleanings. It is not unusual to have to hit a third bathroom trying to find a clean stall. It happened to me last dynamic week, and it was happening years ago. Gross.

What a bunch of whiny brats! You have the power to make a change. Go somewhere else if you are that unhappy.
You will easily find another job if you are as good as you think you are.
This is the reality. Deal with it or go somewhere else- you are hurting yourself by staying in a situation that makes you so unhappy.
The situation is unfair- how you deal with it determines the course in your own life.
Do I stay and be unhappy? Stay and make it work?Or do I chart a new course and be happy. It’s your choice how to proceed. Life is always changing- how are you going to deal with those changes. It’s up to you.

Based on OSHA laws here in RI, there are not enough bathrooms if they max out the capacity in 900.

I think everyone is overlooking the people most harmed by WFH, the executives.
How are they supposed to do their jobs when they can’t walk the halls and see employees doing stuff? For years they’ve been forced to rely on things like results, productivity metrics, and actual business outcomes to determine whether work is getting done.
That’s no way to run a company.
Thankfully, RTO restores the traditional management tools of walking past a desk, seeing someone intensely staring at Excel, and thinking, “Excellent. Productivity.”
Please have some empathy.

I just want to say how much I appreciate all of you! I can't wait to be snappy and sarcastic in everyone's presence!!! I can imagine HR associates with their evil grins loving all of our agony. If we are lucky we may be blessed with a Flash meeting and get a surprise layoff and severance. Hoping y'all post some good video to reddit when we are packed into the cafe or have no parking spaces when we are all back. If they are overcapacity call it in to OSHA or the town for fire hazard overcapacity issues.
It's so awesome to know that when nature calls during work hours, I can forgo the cleanliness of home, and instead utilize the faciilities at work, where filth and retched nastiness reign supreme!
Why, at work it's almost as if I'm ensconsed within a billowy cloud of cotton candy, where as soon as I open the restroom door to enter, I'm hit with the putrid stench of lingering sh!tfartstank, while I'm zigzagging around an obstacle course of rancid, ever expanding p!sspuddles. Then, upon "concluding business" as it were, only to discover that YES!...once again, there's no T.P. in the stall! ...Winning!
Best part about this post is that upper management probably couldn’t even realize that is sarcasm. But an HR do nothing boot li---r will realize it and that’ll cause them to smile their wide evil toothy grin. Give this place exactly what it deserves - the bare minimum.
I am recently retired from Fidelity and even though the past 3 years I've had an hour+ commute into the office, I really enjoyed being in person with my co-workers. If I lived closer and had not retired, I wouldn't have an issue going into the office full time...like it was pre-pandemic. Although, I lament that the company is now much less flexible on WFH needs (e.g., for doctors appts or kids' sports games).
@bw I didn’t read whining or temper tantrums. I read some sarcastic satire that holds true feelings. Not sure why you’re so angry about other people’s opinions. Kinda sad actually. Good luck.
@c0 yes, some of us literally took pay cuts to work here in the first place because we took jobs assuming we'd have dynamic working which made it worth lower salaries. now we don't have that and we're still getting paid less. lots of people are going to leave in January once the bonus hits
@c0 I’m not whining about RTO. I’m so excited! I got a bunch of Fidelity RTO shirts printed. I even got the Merrimack location tattooed across my chest. Mama Abby is going to be so proud of me! She may even grant me a 0.015% raise this year!
Did any of you whining about RTO and added financial costs on gas & wear and tear on your car take a pay cut when given the opportunity to WFH? Nope, I didn't think so.
I also want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for leadership’s commitment to listening to employee feedback on return-to-office. It’s truly inspiring to watch you nod thoughtfully through every survey, town hall, and comment box submission, only to conclude — against all available evidence — that what employees really want is to sit in traffic everyday and pay for parking so they can join the same Zoom calls they’d otherwise join from home. You can't even wait until you can post about your actual experience, no. Your anticipatory anger is self inflicted. Why ruin the last 2 weeks of WFH? This Thanksgiving I will give thanks for added financial costs on gas & wear and tear on my car. For example, last week an uninsured driver hit my car for additional costs of $2400. Thank you for that. I would also like to give thanks for collaboration with different viruses and sickness brought in daily, team work amongst my colleagues who work in different cities, and finding a place to new spot work & park everyday. I am thankful for lost time on productivity. More importantly, can someone please promote the ceo as soon as possible? Thanks!
I'm also looking forward to having more background noise when handling client appointments, the excitement of sitting in a different desk each day while playing Russian roulette with equipment working gives that extra little sense of challenge. I'm really looking forward to catching more flu and other fun viruses from my casual collisions. I cannot wait! Fidelity has the smartest leadership and I feel confident with all their decisions.
