If you're using your Intel laptop they know you're not working on site and most of the buildings can pick up the RFID as you move around. If they're paying attention to the data and want to make a move they will, simple as that. Just don't act surprised if they do. Ignorance will not save you.
@gp
25yrs, I don't think so, 10-12 yes. Sh!t started to drastically go down the tube after BK chose not to invest in EUV. Buying back stock just so he could dump his. That was the beginning of what has currently come to pass. It just seems longer because of the slow progression. Intel was in a similar position in the 80s with Japanese dumping memory but they had the right person at the helm back then.
How are they trackng coffee badging?
RTO was a broad program that's not relevant for so many people. If your whole team is remote and you don't work with anyone onsite and all your customers are remote, why do you have to be in office so many days?
So the CEO "feels good" I guess.
Coffee Badging was starting to be tracked last year. They can still get rid of you months later as the data aggregates. Good luck lol
@ac Ocotillo is even bigger scam. The grift continues. Smile and wave boys, smile and wave. 🤣

Tap in, open laptop and go and grab a coffee, come back 15 minutes later, go home. Repeat.
This company is d-mb, no one I know has seen any policy stating anything but 4 days, and people have heard minimal of two as the threshold. No time limit to be in office. Like the previous poster said RTO is a bad move by Intel, not convinced this is what LBT wanted. I do two for about an hour and never been an issue
@OP
What does the policy say? Does it say you have to stay?
The written policy is one badge swipe per day.
We call 'em 'coffee badgers'
I only come to the office 2 days per week in HF, management validated with HR that this is all that is necessary to remain in good graces.
Any company that is not embracing remote work will not have a future, they will never attract, never retain the best and the brightest employees. Intel was not known to be able to attract the best for the last 25 years so this will end up hurting them more, this will be another failure for them, like missing iPhone chips, the coming failure of of IFS. It is a temp job for intel employees treat it as such
D-mb post. All employees are part of a team and team notices absenses then boss notices. There is cjecks and balances in workplace. Op has never worked on site and knows little about hourly and salary employees situations.
I do my work. Badge in dont badge in could not care less if you do you are the problem since you have time to worry about others work habbit.
They use camera and rfid to see when they leave. Report coming out to your manager
Employees from every location are doing this
How is this mostly your problem? That is up to the direct manager.
@ac
Yeah, but it's gubment moneys. Free moneys.
it's fine, nobody cares
OP says this like it is a bad thing.
if they were serious about optimizing the company,
they would shut down down CHANDLER, but THEY AREN'T EVER SERIOUS anyway.
the cash keeps burning brightly down there.
@OP
yep, used to see a lot of this in the CH6 building!
but most of those people are shttt employees, and make NO impact anyway.
Should be an ethics reporting method specifically for this type of thing
Figures rules for me and not for thee isn’t that how it always works.
