Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Mutual of America - A Sinking Feeling

The Mutual of America culture is gonna experience a dramatic shift next year & the biggest disappointment will bee after spending millions of $$$ & jettisoning 175 employees who understand how mutual of america works, they will be replaced by scabs who will make a boat load to mistakes & many of those errors will sink client relationships. TIAA has undergone major problems shifting to AX-Centure. See what employees at TIAA are posting on their own Layoff Board—-

“Accenture hasn't been living up to expectations and it's proven by the multiple project delays. Team synergy is non-existent. Accenture underestimated the TIAA ecosystem and the system complexity to take the business to the next level. Valuable TIAA people are gone, while Accenture swaps out their people due to incompatibility or incompetence. Accenture spends more time on PowerPoint slides and meetings that nothing gets done. Don't forget the 2 year contract for the rebadged Accenture employees is ending this year. A lot of issues with little resolution, let's hope AI can fix it.”

@hf low skill ? I’d like to see you with highly complex technical corrections w/ and old legacy OMNI system which is still running on COBOL & in many ways, on older technology than our former legacy sponsor connect system DOS based, and see how accurate you really are. You wouldn’t even last two weeks with all the stress, workarounds, w/out generating errors. I hate to break it to you, but people who work with these systems possess much higher skills than what you give them credit for.

"get over it" and "cut the fat"..... comments that are so unproductive. MofA is still a toxic environment that has lost it's way and client base. The top heavy over paid ignorant management is the problem. This place is still the epicenter of nepotism in corporate world, with VP's and EVP's that should be nothing but sales staff. No new ideas, losing once loyal clients and the finest incompetent leadership in the industry. It's not shocking the ratings have dropped. True strong effective leadership should have shown the door to every VP and EVP involved in the sales department the door several years ago.

@ew get over it already, enough. The jobs are very low skill and low on the totem pole. The company is saving money to do bigger and better things. If they were high skilled they wouldn’t be getting put to the trash where they belong

@e2 good decision for you ? How much are you and the rest of the C-Suite going to make in bonuses on this deal ? Care to be transparent & truthfully tell how it personally benefits you ? Plus, the labor savings are substantial, but they are no where near 100 to 1. What are you smoking ? Save maybe $10M per year after all the rework, delays, & the fact MoA managers will have to pick up the slack. Will cost $25m a year in more client defections.

It’s a good decision get over it. There’s no need to pay the low IQ losers when you can get similar and sometimes better output for 1/100th of the payroll. It’s time to cut the fat. No more free rides at MOA only skilled employees should be here going forward not losers

The monthly DEI webinars will now have to include how to work with Hindus, on different continents & time zones, foreign cultures in distant lands, translating broken English into real English, RACI an-l-ysis, & how to communicate to contractors who are error prone & have lo IQs.

@OP when Accenture took over the back office operations for the Thrift Savings Plan, there was a disastrous transition with money out & money in issues. Loans, Hardships, Distributions, Contributions. The GAO found lack of procedure, testing, quality control checks, governance & oversight. They did not stress test the process & systems & instead rushed the roll out.

Does this experience sound like the transition to FIS ?

There will be massive backlogs & errors. So, much so plan level reporting will be impacted.

The firm needs to begin to prepare it’s clients now because if they begin to experience money in & money out issues, it’s Sadie bar the door.
