This is also why the switches in the Northeast still have not received their contracts for the Union. Moving into VZB is not guaranteed for all employees anymore

@hr Hey genius, the poster was talking about wireless MSCs. Besides, central offices house a lot more equipment than legacy voice switches and that equipment requires maintenance, repair, and provisioning work as well. Yes most COTs rove now and will only get more buildings in the future.
@hr yep.very litte work in central offices ,mostly decom of legacy eqpt and most of that work has dried up. Lucky its the beginning of the month I can add routines to my report.
Switches are going bye bye. G5’s are being used for whatever customers are left. After that what’s left in the CO’s that you need a tech to sit there all day doing nothing? Eventually you rove or they’ll just contract it out.

That sounds risky. I have never been in a switch that allowed GCs to enter the actual switch rooms and in most cases, couldn't even enter the spares room unescorted. One spilled cup of coffee or any number of other wrong moves could drop entire regions. I just heard Homer Simpson in my head asking,"Where's the any key?”. Only an idi... Nevermind. It just became probable.
