Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

People actions coming in August and November

Two planned reductions this year. A small one near the end of August and a larger one around Thanksgiving. VPs already know and are choosing which teams will be hit. Directors will hear news about the layoff in the next 2 weeks. Cloud product teams will take the largest hit.

With none of the severance being paid yet (even since MAY,) I would bet they are in far more dire straights than they are claiming.

What a joke of a company.

A layoff during August would be timely and expected from company leadership considering the share price is at an all time high. George and his goons are just too greedy to let their employees reap the benefits of their hard work.

@n1 On the surface, it's certainly difficult to see the value in both of those acquisitions. Feels very odd how they just randomly bubbled up without any sort of discussions prior: I'm probably not smart enough to understand why a JAR file running spark jobs on custom GPU backends couldn't be hacked up by opus in a weekend. Perhaps there are patents involved.

@bm
Like most acquisitions, these two are doomed...

@k8 its because they are replacing another of bulk AMER and EMEA TSE2s and TSE3s for cheaper apac to eventually have only apac TSEs.

How can support be impacted as it's already decimated.

And then wondering why we have that many p1 and DM.

Big re-org happens in support coming November. Layoffs likely then.

Netapp leadership continues to undervalue support organization. Weak SLOW leadership, some of which couldn’t care less as they’re planning to retire or move on to the next endeavor soon.

Netapp is a shiny apple that’s rotten on the inside. Eventually that rot starts to show. Customers will see it.

I can confirm this is being planned. November has been mentioned several times.
