I found out the other day from a site lead that Boston is imminent. March 2027 is the projected day to have us into Boston both Westborough and Everett. This is very alarming. This is going to incur so much money for me coming from Westborough. I know that they just closed their are in the process of closing the Delaware office so they definitely are getting their ducks in a row to make sure that there’s only certain areas that are open. The site lead was hesitant to let us know but ended up telling us because he felt bad. it’s very concerning to me that both my manager and my director are not even relaying this information. I understand it will cause a spike in people departing, but wouldn’t you rather be forthcoming to individuals that you call a “family I don’t know my time here is definitely up. I’ve been looking, but just haven’t had any luck with finding a new job hopefully I can continue to do this through March 2027. I do not really want to go four days a week into Boston. The cost alone would drive my measly salary more into the ground.

@xd who announced what? I’m in Everett nothing was communicated and others in W-borough said nothing was said to them. So you are definitely being a troll.
@gw They were going to buy it. The deal fell through after issues with the town from what I recall. But BNY still vacated the building and moved to a new location in Westborough just a mile or two away.

@ap It’s happening. Sure, people may have gotten the timing wrong saying last December, but as someone pointed out construction was delayed. Why do you think they moved Boston folks to Everett last year? They need to clear the floor in Boston to rebuild to be able to cram more people in there. There has never been a reason to remodel Boston so they still have cubicles and offices. The lease is up soon in Everett. There is currently no plan to renew. When they closed the 3rd floor, we signed a lease for 5 years for the 2nd floor and 10 years for the 1st. Unless you’ve just started with the company you can remember it’s been about 4 years since the 2nd floor closed. That means only one year remaining in the first floor lease. We’re toast.
And guess what will happen to BNY in Boston after this? Give it 3 years and then it will become a remote outpost for senior management only. Massachusetts is too expensive to do business in and RV is reacting to it.
I thought Amazon wanted to buy the Westborough property back in 2021-2022? I can recall hearing BNY was to close WB back then.
@ap I left Everett a year ago and all I can say is you are woefully uninformed. Everett is, indeed closing, it’s been in the works for several years; construction got delayed in Boston, but the site will close.
@er you cannot change how the EC decides to run things. You can change how you allow it to affect you emotionally.
@er As someone who has already gone through a site closure, I can tell you that what you wrote is valid and true. This is a consistent pattern of behavior. The “leadership” at BNY does not care how employees feel. They are not concerned about employee anxiety created by the lack of communication regarding their livelihoods. The lack of respect for employees is clear. Site closures do not need to be handled this way. This is a choice. Other large financial institutions do not operate in darkness. They are transparent and intentional in handling their employees. I recently spoke with a family member who is a senior leader a a very large financial institution. He was appalled when I described how BNY site closures were handled. This confirmed for me that BNY is a third rate company, which a broken culture and out of touch management. The grass is greener at many other places. Run away from BNY as fast as you can if you are able.
@cx It's not so much how employees feel about it. The real issue is the lack of transparency and consideration for the employees that are impacted by these leadership decisions. There is absolutely NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER...therefore employees live in fear based on rumors and speculation about their fate. This is not a comfortable position to be in and yet the fear and discomfort is what leadership seems to prefer as the accepted strategy and position. This is ethically wrong and why employees are disturbed and reacting on this site because they can do so anonymously.
@ap its just reality that this company intends to consolidate locations. They’re not interested in how the employees feel about it.
This site is just made to gaslight and frighten people, I am in Everett and I have heard nothing about this. First it was on this site "5 days in June" never happened, Then it was Site closure last December in Everett that also never happened. I think people just write stuff on here to scare people and panic them because they are bored or just evil people. They have been "closing" according to this website so many other sites and they are all still open, stop fear mongering people that are already demoralized.
We heard rumors in Wilmington, Delaware site for the past 2 years that they would close our location. The management keeps postponing their plan.
Please see previous posts regarding recent site closures. Wilmington, Pennington, and Uniondale are recent examples. There will be little meaningful communication and nothing is done to benefit or assist employees. The company does not care about you.
