Worst managed layoffs

Of all the layoffs that I survived here, I think these are the worst managed ones. Do you agree?

Massive damage

Sabre will never be the same again because this is a huge loss of institutional knowledge for this company. I think the damage done by these layoffs is irreparable…… I don't think the leaders gave enough thought to the fact that damage is easy... — read more

I'm not handling this well

I was laid off yesterday. I feel completely overwhelmed and I can't concentrate on anything. All I keep thinking about is the layoff and if there's anything I could have done differently to keep my job. If you were in a similar position, how did you... — read more

Leave immediately or…?

I'm interested in whether those who got laid off have to leave immediately or not? Someone already asked this question but there was no answer.

No email, no layoff

I understand that if I didn't get THE email I'm safe, but I also know that emails were not all sent at the same time. Does this apply if my team was already hit? Or can the rest of us still get the email? Is there any way to know when all the emails... — read more

Incredible Losses Today

I know many folks, incredible talent, who were cut today. This will impact Sabre long term and I do not think we'll be able to recover from this.

People in great uncertainty

The company once again proves how little it cares about its employees, who right now are very concerned about whether they will lose their jobs or not. Couldn't they have at least managed these layoffs a little better so we're not feeling so much... — read more

Impacts to customer service

Never commented here before and I left Sabre voluntarily sometime ago. It seems nothing has changed in my time there I watched technical misstep after next going though migrations to just about every cloud provider possible while customer service... — read more

The d-mbest thing to do

Is to lay off, but so that it is too little to make a difference. It has all the price to pay, impact on morale, and reputation yet it is still not to the right extent. Leadership are id...ts.

If you are worried about today

Spend a few minutes looking at different job boards, such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor. I guarantee you will feel a lot better when you realize that the job market is not as bad as you might think and how many opportunities there are out there... — read more

Ekert first 3 weeks

Ekert has been CEO of Sabre for 3 weeks now and his first announcement has been a massive RIF of the people he claims to care about. Bad start! To all my friends and colleagues impacted by this, my best wishes to you all, not yet sure whether I will... — read more

US Location

Thread to discuss about US location notifications on May 15th

Layoffs Poland

A thread for Polish folks to discuss the ongoing situation. The message from the Board has just came in and it says that 99 out of 1327 employees will be laid off(that's 7,5%) but as I understand they're talking only about employees, not sure if and... — read more

Layoffs are not merit based

I don't know what's the criteria but it's not performance. I can say that with certainty considering who we just lost.

Good Luck!

Good luck for Monday folks. It will be business hours in APAC shortly. Any folks from ANZ? If yes then do let us know how it went…

Sabre has about 4000 contractors but few will be cut

Most will not be touched. Reason being is they want to save $200m in 2024 by cutting employees. Then when critical initiatives are completed they will cut most contractors by end of. 2024 saving another $200m in 2025.
