Predictions for next RIF...

WD had a large RIF on 11/15... usually that means Seagate is soon to follow with a RIF. How soon do you think our RIF will be? Will we have a merry RIFmas or a RIFsgiving?

I think I messed up

I've been looking for a new job for a while and I think somehow my manager caught wind of it. I assume one of my current coworkers might have told him (by the way, never tell anybody at the office your plans - I learned that the hard way). I denied... — read more

Pre-thanksgiving chop?

Mosley Apologize!

Someone else brought this up in their thread and it hit me - big D never apologized for his call on Huawei. Not a word. Instead - he just said this is dealt with, good news, we paid the fine, move on. Bullsh-t. You don’t get to cram Integrity as your... — read more

It's getting to be too much

I'm feeling overwhelmed by the uncertainty, frustration, and stress that are now a mainstay of working at Seagate. I'm seriously contemplating trading it all for a simpler, more peaceful life. I am even considering tossing in the towel and working a... — read more

Morale of LCO

Can’t seem to understand why even after so many layoffs and paycuts, people seem to boast about Seagate like wandering with id cards in schools and grocery shops. Trying to understand what makes them feel this special abt their company

Is right now a good time to join seagate?

I recently got an offer from Seagate. P4, business/non tech position, remote. During the interview, they talked about HAMR a lot. Is it a good time to join Seagate? I do think storage business has a good future due to demand

Prepare for layoffs

We know that this leadership (can we even call them that?) only knows how to react to bad quarters with more layoffs. There isn't a chance they're going to miss this opportunity to get rid of more people to artificially and temporarily fix the... — read more

Another bad quarter

8.9% operating margin, lost $184M, -$0.88/share. Another layoff inevitable. We saw this coming months ago, so HR has been preparing for it.

Another one is coming this nov and dec

Another one is coming this nov and dec to end a good year for Seagate. Manpower will be squeezed ,merging of department so staff can handle more areas, expected to be more multi tasking needed. Dont expect increment for the next few years.

Earnings report on 10/26

Should hear about Nov RIF during ER. Revenue expected to drop again. Need to sell more Spidey man drives!

Criminals

Someone posted this - “ In sports, fixed salaries are often converted into signing bonuses as the accounting is different. Seagate giving out RSU instead of restoring the salary cuts has similar accounting effects. In fact, I think Seagate should... — read more

WDC & STX trade offer

On behalf of angry WDC employees i propose the following trade: Your overpaid incompetent management for ours? I will even through in our BODs and the flunkys our exec team brought in with them. What say you STX?

This needs to stop

Stop laying people off! We already have plenty of projects we can't deliver on time and services we are barely able to keep up with because we simply lack the resources to do so. And by resources, yes, I mean people. We are struggling here and the... — read more

Succession

The rumor within the sales team is that the head of sales is getting ready to move in to the big fat man’s job.

Death of a company

Seagate is the perfect example of how good companies go bad and then die in a single generation with one bad leader, the blame solely rests on the board.
