Voluntary Severance versus Involuntary

What determined which departments were offered voluntary severance versus only involuntary? There's a significant difference between the two, up to a half years salary. In my department, it was only involuntary and for my location we couldn't opt... — read more

Is State Farm Able to Retain Internal Java Developers?

I see a lot of posts on this board saying that Java developers are needed in State Farm. I heard about an incident in ECRM where State Farm is loosing internal Java developers because they can't deal with the incompetence of the H1B Visa developers... — read more

Fluid QTD date? Specific to Bank...

Since we have received the final opt-in/opt-out form that is due 6/25 I have another concern. For those of us that opted out, the QTD is 8/31. The form says that QTD can be either before or after that date, something to the effect of as long as it is... — read more

Mobility is a joke

For those of us in Bloomington do we all remember Mr. Farrington and other senior leaders saying that personal flexibilty and mobility will be a key. Really? Only if you move yourself. Have you noticed most if not all the ET posting have “relocation... — read more

For those who were able to retire on May 1st with the reductions, it stated you would receive 100% of EIP in retirement package. Since it is at 0, does that mean you would get nothing? If you were told you would get it, dId HR give you a time frame?... — read more

ET - One Systems Dept?

How many times is SF going to reorg into one Systems Department? This is the 3rd time from my recollection. Auto, Fire, and others combined decades ago. S&S combined in 90's to form Systems and Corp South was constructed. Now we have ET. Maybe... — read more

Claim handling

I am a long term customer and reading about the changes in Claims makes me wonder how a claim on my home if (I ever have one) would be handled? Can I expect a local SF employee to be the person who works my claim or will I be forced to deal with a... — read more

Severance details?

What are current terms of severance? I think in past re-orgs it was two weeks for each of the first 10 years of employment, and one week for each year after that, nacing out at 52 weeks. Am I remembering correctly?

Question for the Trolls

Ok, so a number of you have been vocal in your support for change, which you indicate is needed. My question is this: Is the company going far enough in this re-org, or are there additional things you would like to see done to ensure the success of... — read more

Where were all of you the past 10 years?

First off, it's never easy to be on transition wondering if you had a job. Sorry Bloomington folks but this has been going on for 10 years plus in the regional offices and claim centers across the U.S.. Where was the outrage, conspiracy and concern... — read more

Systems

Can someone briefly tell me what jobs would fall under the Systems heading. I’m proximity auto and apparently live in a closet.

Didn't happen soon enough

Every post on here seems to be some kind of conspiracy theory about 50+ workers. Why would that me? Could it be because you don't have any skills? I survived the purge because I've kept my skills relevant. And every day watch a bunch of useless... — read more
