Did Broadcom acquire VMware, raise prices for many businesses both large and small, decide it no longer wanted smaller clients and instead focus on large, profitable customers, and lay off employees who may then have been hired by companies like Nutanix?

Broadcom Software To Big To Fail?
The whole point is for the acquired companies to fail, driving customers away and wringing money out of them to fund the next acquisition.
. It’s all about getting the most return from the fewest assets.

That’s standard procedure for Broadcom. They did the same to Symantec and Computer Associates. Now they aren’t just dropping customers and employees but whole products as well. It’s all about getting the most return from the fewest assets.
Those are smart moves and should be regarded as failure.
@OP most of the vcf employees were hired back as remote contractors through HCL and TCS.
