Ditto on the Leicester experience but it’s a problem with R&D everywhere. We are failing. Every big change of structure and leadership now make the problem worse. Every round of VRP means we lose highly experienced people. We replace them with wannabes and peacocks. Worse still, the most senior leadership are breeze-ins with fancy sounding PhD’s and no idea how to make real change happen in a company they don’t understand. The result is that we are less and less innovative relying more and more on simplistic innovation that doesn’t grow the business. Because we fail at innovation we try and buy our way out of the problem and then we mess that up as well.
Every time they tell us there is light at the end of the tunnel it turns into just another oncoming train.
Remember when Growth was once a company value? Hah!
@1h5 I work in the Leicester office and agree 100%. I am working my ae off doing 2peoples job. I go in at least 3 days a week and when on call there is so much background noise of people talking st like you said and doing no to little work. Please R&D leads sort this mess out. Those of us that are working hard get no credit and those who talk s**t and big them selves up get awards and praise, I am obviously doing something wrong. I get paid to work so I work. R&D leads if you are reading this please sort. Thank you
When I worked in Plano I remember all these managers running their little side businesses out of their offices, everyone knew about it, and everyone acted like that acceptable.
This is the same in the Europe R&D office in Leicester. I was there 2weeks back and a lot of idleness not much work going on! Is there really no work for them to do and just sit around talking s**t. Someone needs to get a hold of these groups and fire them or get them to work on their projects. This is where the money is being wasted and then they let the good people go! Rant over.
News flash!!! Nobody cares about your daughter or son who plays rec league insert-fringe-sport (lacrosse, hockey, rugby, club volleyball, golf). If your kid was any good, we would see them on the high school team and being recruited. Your C-team kid stinks and we are tired of listening to it!
@bd Agreed....just chatting away. I was sitting at my desk in Plano and 3 of them were bragging about their homes and chatting about their kids, upwards of 45 minutes. I was so annoyed!!
I’m just over apologizing to customers for our issues. Overpromising things that we can’t deliver. The boss said move the needle and then went golfing
There is just so BS going on there that can be cut and it will never be missed
I know under S&T, lots of Indians are pretending they are busy, but they are slacking off and boasting.
