Why are we still dragging ourselves in three days a week when nearly 80% of the workforce is fully remote anyway? Make it make sense. Moving it to 2 days would literally fix half the morale issues in one swing. Easy!
And can Chicago offices please get mandatory remote weeks during Taste of Chicago or other local gridlock "natural disasters"? Navigating downtown during major city events is a full-contact sport, and doing it just to sit on useless teamscalls in a cubicle is absurd.
I know people get pissy when employees come on here to vent, but where else are we supposed to go? The employee survey feels like a black hole where feedback goes to die. I’m putting this out here with the naive hope that someone in leadership actually reads it, gets it, and decides to care for once.

@368 they were stained but we had people coming around giving instructions on how to use them!
@3d3 whoop de doo. Photos prove nothing other than you are a weasel
@3a0 rolling 52 week view
@3a0 at least you are In chicago. In other offices we have coworkers taking pictures of folks leaving to report them to leadership.
@OP its on a monthly or quarterly system .Dont go in those days and make it up the following weeks
@2qf - Terrible chairs too! It makes the work experience even more miserable.
@2ss most likely! Gotta save dollars for Maurice and Big O bonuses.
I wonder if they have the same 1 ply toilet paper they we have in their private restrooms?
@2qf Probably the ones from closed Texas offices that we couldn't buy for WFH
But we are getting new chairs!!! Probably refurbished from a sake but new to us- such a reason to head on in!!!
@2e8 so being in the office is just to stroke leadership’s big heads and egos?
An older article at Barrons.com just came to my notice. It’s from 2/13/25 and covers a leaked audio of a JP Morgan Chase exec. The summary: execs in charge feel more respected when they’re working in the office while surrounded by subordinates who are also working in the office. Interesting theory.
@r7 We were told there was a monthly report that came out showing the number of average days in a month. When I was on Flex, I never got reprimanded as I adhered to the policy despite not liking it. I made up the day if there was a week I needed to work from home 3 times in 1 week. My coworker got reprimanded for not adhering to the policy and had to make up days in the office. The really stupid part is that we were both in a satellite office and didn’t sit with the rest of the team.
Seems like just a rule to create a toxic work environment to get people to quit. I remember the 300 days when we were in the office 5 days a week regardless of what events were taking place downtown. There was no work from home prior to 2010.
@1h1 much like strategy- Hcsc has no plan. They like to throw org changes around with no meaningful reason and create power points with the latest corporate buzz words.
Downtown floors almost empty. Donna is a boss and she said remote and done. That was in April. I am honestly very depressed as I have no Donna and have to go into a pretty much empty floor building. Absolutely doesn’t make sense to go into empty floors. If a plan, please share.
@n1 they already track this. There's people that get canned for this probably every few months. It's tracked on a rolling calendar year and they want an average of 2.54 days a week over the course of that year or something along those lines. (Might have the number wrong, it's been awhile)
Wait till they start tracking…..
@ep Perfect wording used with them putting a “spin” on it!
@cn make it optional. Or give us a reason to come in and it ain’t a hamburger recipe contest.
@ep how many of these “ top 50 executives” or “ most ethical company” or “ greatest ceo” awards can we buy?
@en 100% agree. It’s just a way for them to pat themselves on the back for doing a survey, ignore or spin results, put in a stupid plan and stand back and smile at another d-mb award we got for doing the useless survey.
@cm No it’s not anonymous. I stopped submitting BP since it’s just a waste of time.
I am lucky to be one of the remote. I don’t have much work. I’d rather get laid off! I want the severance and then I can retire!
Agreed. Their policy is a joke. Make it two days a week would be better.
Just remember- that blue pulse may be confidential but it dang sure is not anonymous -
So you can collaborate. Do some. White board sessions, look someone in the eye. Quit hiding in your bedroom trying to lead from your underwear….
@ad IFM for example under AB. They don’t have to come in at all.
What will be even more funny is when the company reverses remote for some to return to an office. Those closest to an office still open.
I do agree with not having flexibility during festivals. Makes commuting crazy.
Three days a week is also not applied equally, by the way. There are teams in my building that only have to come in twice a week, but others are told three days. And it's been implied that showing up will affect bonuses.
My director still requires us to come in regularly even though we are all classified as telecommuters. She says it’s based on “business need,” but it’s really just for an unproductive team meeting that decreases morale each time it happens. Exceptions for driving in are made for team members who don’t have childcare while requiring the rest of us to be in the office. There are days I don’t even know what to say anymore.
