It seems like over the past 2 years things have been getting progressively worse. We are expected to do everything faster with fewer resources. People are stressed and exhausted, and more end up leaving. A lot of positions are not being backfilled... — read more
Paralysis Analysis at HCSC
Part of the Cigna / HealthSpring acquisition here. Over at Cigna part of the business strategy was buying companies and quickly incorporating them into our BO operations. On the other hand, HCSC seems like a kid in fourth grade trying to figure out a... — read more
More medicare cuts coming soon?
Any more coming this way?
I stayed 15 years because I was scared to leave
Finally took the leap and got an offer that blew me away. I won't say the grass is guaranteed to always be greener, but I can tell you this: good things happen when you leave your comfort zone.
Do We Still Need Project Managers at HCSC?
Why does HCSC still maintain project manager roles? Beyond following up with people, what value do they actually add and why don’t they seem to be held accountable when projects fail? Shouldn’t these positions be considered redundant with us being... — read more
This place is a mess from top to bottom
We have got managers who should not be managing anyone, goals that are completely detached from reality, and zero training to help anyone succeed. Bullies run wild because nobody bothers to fire them anymore, bare minimum is the standard, and asking... — read more
Empty suits
Did you ever wonder how some of these shiny empty suits ( make and female) got their positions? They are always on unlimited pto, don’t do the work and avoid the first sign of conflict? I would like to know how to get these skills.
Training for new hires
Is it true that a new hire will have to relocate to the city the training location is in, instead of virtual training? I saw a job posted in Workday stating trainees would have to be in Houston for the duration of training. Are they putting people... — read more

It seems like a lot of managers and executives are taking their time. I'm not sure if people really know what AI is and how it can help We have it but are limited to how much we can use it for.
Still think they don’t have a clue?
President Trump is ending Medicare D subsidies at the end of the year. What happens then? It’ll push the largest Medicare D population to Medicare Advantage - the national product.
What is the reason?!
Why are we still dragging ourselves in three days a week when nearly 80% of the workforce is fully remote anyway? Make it make sense. Moving it to 2 days would literally fix half the morale issues in one swing. Easy! And can Chicago offices please... — read more
More musical chairs …
I’m not sure why they think continually moving teams around is helpful- I guess any action is better than inaction. It’s just musical chairs at this point.
What's the biggest factor in your decision to quit?
Is it pay? Job security? Something else?
You all are missing everything
HCSC is now being managed by Manika and others with some ideology that they are bent on. It is not business. It is ideology. Maurice was an incrediblely smart business person back in the day, but he too has succumbed to this cr-p. Hcsc used to be... — read more

Next Layoff Round
Will it be in September or sooner?
Deep fake!
Who the heck is impersonating an HCSC employee? I mean- who would want this job that old Mounjaro Monika has to send out an email about being on camera?
Why can't they grasp the most basic concept?
Treating people well isn't complicated. When you respect employees, they stay and contribute. Mistreat people and it brings everyone and everything down, including productivity. Why can't leadership figure this out?
Natural disaster, but get that badge swipe!
The air is terrible here in Chicago. Why haven't they closed the offices?! They care about our health right? Nope, swipe that badge!
Morgan Park
Got the rug pulled from under us, no longer going to be working from home full-time, actually need to be in the office more of the time. Union apparently knew about this and didn’t object. Maurice is a clown.

HCSC HSAs - transferring to external HSA account
I was thinking of switching to an HSA next enrollment. Are we allowed to transfer our funds from the employer-sponsored HSA to a different service provider (like Fidelity)? I've never had an HSA so I was curious about the process.
Salesforce Platform Strategic Enablement team
A major reorganization is coming for the SPSE team. Leadership is unhappy that too many employees don’t have clearly defined responsibilities or measurable deliverables.

HCSC Parting Ways with BCBSA?

I wish I was able to enjoy the Fourth of July more

Offshoring
How long before we open the inevitable offshore “service center” to replace all the offices we just shut down with cheap foreign labor? I give it 18 months tops.
