Discover/CapOne has gotten to the point of telling employees if they don’t like how the merger is going they can quit.
Rant
These are my opinions only from what I’ve heard from people at Discover. Not working for them and don’t speak for them. Only know what I’ve been told by many people scared to speak up.

The merger has been an absolute disaster. I’ve seen people give out feedback on it only to get shut down and threatened with termination over it.

They went from preaching how this is going to be great for consumers and employees, to now saying well this is how mergers goes and if you’re upset you need to get over it or quit.

They say they welcome any feedback but when you do try to give feedback you get AI responses and then told you’re being too negative if you don’t shut up and it’ll lead to termination if it continues.

Don’t see this going well for employees at all. Kinda seems like they’re trying to get rid of as many people as they can.

Centene SIU: A Regulatory Disaster in the Making! Sarah London, Take Action!!

If you’ve been watching Centene’s Special Investigation Unit fall apart over the past few months, you already know we are staring at a textbook operational breakdown. What should be Centene’s strongest defense against Fraud, Waste, and Abuse has been systematically dismantled by executive mismanagement, nepotism, and a culture of fear.

It all started when Ashlee hired Christa Marshall Jewsbury and Sabrina Vera. Almost overnight, executive leadership shifted away from operational integrity to favoritism. Director positions were filled with personal friends and "minions" rather than qualified internal and external talent who actually understand the business.

Since then, middle management has been getting crushed under uncompensated scope creep. Managers are now forced to absorb duties traditionally handled by senior investigators and leads, including reviewing preliminary reports, drafting education letters, and handling complex case reviews, with zero adjustments to job descriptions, zero extra resources, and zero bump in pay.

Meanwhile, the environment under Christa and Sabrina has devolved into micromanagement and intimidation. Staff are dealing with:

--Arbitrary restrictions on earned PTO and medical leave

--Inconsistent, we-ponized performance ratings and bonus distributions

--Direct threats that anyone who questions decisions can leave or risk losing their job

Now, the situation is reaching a tipping point. Christa is actively preparing to pitch Chris on a total department restructuring. This proposed "reorg" isn't about efficiency, it is a calculated push to eliminate legacy positions, purge seasoned SIU veterans, wipe out institutional knowledge, and replace experienced staff with Humana hires who won't question executive overreach.

When you fire experienced investigators and systematically gut an oversight unit, the work fails. This isn't just an internal morale issue, it is a massive regulatory, contractual, and legal liability for Centene.

Sarah London and Chris, how can you sit back and watch this happen?

As CEO, Sarah London cannot ignore the toxic leadership destroying this unit. An immediate executive pause must be placed on any proposed SIU reorg. An independent, external third-party audit must be launched immediately to investigate Christa Marshall Jewsbury, Sabrina Vera, and review the hiring and management practices of the SIU before Centene’s regulatory compliance is completely compromised. DO THE RIGHT THING!!

What are some of the most unethical things humana has done?

Humana's most severe legal and ethical controversies involve systemic denial of patient care using flawed predictive algorithms and major Medicare fraud settlements. Critics and lawsuits target its utilization of automated tools to prematurely cut off necessary rehabilitation and nursing care for elderly patients, alongside multi-million dollar federal fraud recoveries.

Systematic Care Denials via Algorithms

  • The nH Predict Tool: Humana faced major class-action lawsuits for using an algorithmic model called nH Predict (developed by NaviHealth) to systematically forecast and cut off coverage for post-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility care.
  • Impact on Patients: Lawsuits allege the algorithm superseded individual doctor evaluations, leading to wrongful, repetitive denials of medically necessary care for vulnerable seniors who were forced to pay out-of-pocket or forego treatment.

Medicare and Billing Fraud Settlements

  • Part D Bid Fraud ($90 Million Settlement): Humana paid $90 million to resolve a landmark whistleblower lawsuit brought by a former actuary. The suit accused Humana of keeping two sets of books and submitting fraudulent, inflated bids to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for prescription dr-g contracts from 2011 to 2017.
  • Overcharging Federal Audits: Federal audits by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) have repeatedly caught Humana overcharging Medicare by tens to hundreds of millions of dollars through unsupported risk-adjustment diagnoses.

Attendance

Has anyone heard of any office attendance updates? Obviously NJ doesn't have parking space but has anyone heard of changes under Takis? I know ML at least created flexibility compared to FB.

How are you all coping with the extreme anxiety of not knowing anything??!

Having not heard any other updates regarding upcoming layoffs--whether they are even happening or not is causing a tremendous amount of anxiety. It is impacting everything for me. I know this may sound cliche, but it feels very much unfair to not give any information for this amount of time. Its so hard to focus on anything other than trying to figure out what to do next but doing so without any additional information is difficult. I know others are probably feeling the same but I am tired of being told to just "not stress". Hopefully, others will comment so I can at least feel like I am not alone. Sending positive energy to everyone impacted. Any tips/advice very much appreciated.
