Denied: your claim. Approved: Mizzou jersey sponsorship.

Centene apparently found another place to put all those savings from “operational efficiency”: Ambetter Health is now sponsoring Mizzou athletics. All sports, because apparently one team wasn’t enough.

It’s football season, though, so for now we get to watch the Ambetter logo ride around on jerseys every Saturday. The pairing is almost too good. Mizzou has spent years getting mileage out of 2-star and 3-star recruits, and Ambetter has spent years collecting 2-star and 3-star reviews. That’s the kind of synergy somebody in leadership probably put on a slide and called strategic alignment, brand activation, stakeholder engagement, or some other expensive phrase for “we bought a sponsorship.”

Meanwhile, employees are watching VSP dates, layoffs, reorganizations, and wondering who gets whacked next. Apparently the marketing budget remains resilient and well-positioned for long-term growth.

I’ve already said reporters ought to be reporting on what is actually happening at Centene, but nobody seems terribly interested in connecting the layoffs, VSPs, vendors, spending, stock performance, and forecasts that keep heading the wrong direction. So I guess somebody has to.

At least the C-suite should get some nice box seats. They can sit up there late in the season and watch Mizzou get rolled by the big boys, just like the stock and the forecast.

I’m sure there’s a slide somewhere showing positive momentum.

Insider stock trade trends.....what's up, stock?

Gee....one has to wonder....do they know something? (removes tongue from cheek):
Insider Trading Activity and Trends
Over the past year, Michael Feld has sold a total of 953 shares of Becton Di-kinson & Co and has not purchased any shares during that same period. This recent sale continues a trend of consistent, albeit relatively small, divestments by the insider.

Looking at the broader insider transaction history for Becton Di-kinson & Co, the picture is decidedly one-sided. Over the past year, there have been 0 insider buys at the company, while there have been 22 insider sells during the same timeframe. This imbalance between buying and selling activity is a signal that corporate insiders, who possess the most intimate knowledge of the company's operations and prospects, have been net sellers of the stock.

Our beloved $36 Million Man Has a Lot of Explaining to Do

At what point do we stop calling this a “turnaround” and admit Nike’s leadership sc--wed up? The stock is sitting around $38.

That’s after years of bad decisions, losing momentum with younger customers, getting buried by competitors, and turning some of the most iconic shoes in the world into glorified clearance-rack inventory.

And somehow the people running the company are still getting paid like everything is going great.

Elliott Hill pulled in $36.3 million in 2026 after laying off thousands of hardworking people. Meanwhile, Nike’s stock is still nowhere near where it was a few years ago.

Congratulations for a YTD Return of +1.03% !!!!

I would like to congratulate the PEP team for this outstanding achievement. This is truly a testament to your dedication, leadership and passion for winning ! Not every organization with a Market Cap of $194B and 300,000 employees worldwide is capable of providing a lower rate of return to its investors than a Money Market fund. Although this may not create smiles for our investors, who cares, it's important to remember that change is difficult and just achieving this small positive number is something you can all be proud of. Let's try for +1.04 in the last 4 months of 2026 !

Is this a good or a bad thing?

Let's be real. How many millionaire employees are working in your store? I got quite a few at mine in Tampa.

I know it's pathetic, but I hear it all the time about employees in my neighboring departments about their million-dollar stock portfolios, their private jet excursions to private islands on their days off, lavish lifestyle. But they just work at Lowe's because they just like to be around the people. Sound familiar? Chime in.

Q3 action?

The stock hasn't been able to gain (or hold onto) much ground and the close of Q3 looms. Anyone hearing about more RIFs coming? Do we have dates?

I know we're always on alert and no day is safe, but I'm talking about confirmed plans beyond just the feeling of another shoe always about to drop.

BNY Stocks

How do I cash out the six BNY stocks we were granted back in 2023?

I clicked transfer but was met with “your cash balance is $41.36. To make more cash available, you’ll need to place a trade”.
Total account value $1033.82

Explain to me like I’m clueless (because I’ve never done this), if I click place a trade, what do I select or click next?

I just want my money.

Zaslav sold another $27.1 million in company stock

This should tell you everything you need to know about how much confidence he has in the company's future once the merger is completed. I'm still holding out hope that it might get blocked, but I know that's almost impossible. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I just don't see a way for this to turn out well, especially for employees.

Ackman lost faith in Hertz

This should tell you everything you need to know. One of the well known investors threw in the towel. Sold all his shares. This company is trash. If you have stock-you should follow suit. Rather than taking a further loss-sell!

Water it down, we need the money!

https://www.reuters.com/legal/transactional/intel-launches-15-billion-share-sale-turnaround-rally-lifts-stock-2026-08-10/

Intel said on Monday it was planning to raise $15 billion through a share sale, as it looks to fund the costly build-out of its chip contract manufacturing business by cashing in on a stock surge ‌fueled by its turnaround efforts.

Sell now and buy back later!

Open Source AI Won. Stop patronizing Anthropic.

Long story short, open source and open weight models have come a long way and pulled ahead in the AI race. You now have FREE models from Deepseek and Kimi, which are as good or even better than the best Anthropic model for coding. It has seriously gotten that absurd now, you would not believe it but it is true . Deepseek V4 Flash is basically a Mythos tier model and dirt cheap.

Which brings me to why are we paying Anthropic thru our noses and burning Illumina's free cash flow? It should be prudent for any leader with a conscience to save Illuminas profits for share buybacks and capex for innovation. Please don't burn money on Anthropics overpriced and lower quality AI models, and open up Illumina's Cursor plans to start using Cursor's models or Kimi or Deepseek. Mind you these are now hosted all on American clouds and so no data is given to China. Save our money. Pump our stock, not Anthropics IPO.

Make Illumina Rich Again.

Lots of lipstick on this pig!

Baron's magazine stopped just short of calling Honeywell Aero stock a value trap today: "Put together, we see Honeywell’s growth continuing to lag its peers. While the valuation is relatively inexpensive, we fear that this could be a value trap." It's no longer Honeywell, but it kept the name and the worst parts of the business practices and senior management hubris. Time to clean house in the executive suite completely and get rid of the old Allied Signal and Jack Welsh disciples that do nothing but poison companies , set them up to fail, and then walk off with golden parachutes. The downtime from the IT migration alone was in the tens of millions of dollars in Q1 alone. The migration residual issues are still a huge and expensive problem that prevents people from doing their work. It's turned into it's own whack-a-mole-zombie-juggernaut nightmare. Run, do not walk, away from this stock until they purge the cancer at the top and show solid financial results.

Gerstner Palmisano Rometty Krishna Madoff

Four chiefs departed from the floor,
With heavy gold bags by the door.
They left the blue stock on the slope,
And took the cash, and ki-led the hope.

Lou Gerstner set the grand design,
He took one hundred eighty-nine.
A million dollars stacked so high,
For saying his last brief goodbye.

Sam Palmisano walked the line,
And took two hundred seventy-one.
A massive fortune in his hand,
As he walked off to golden land.

Ginni Rometty claimed her share,
With twenty million waiting there.
The revenue was shrinking fast,
But her great payout chose to last.

Arvind Krishna joined them there,
With thirty-eight to clear the air.
His package jumped by fifty-one,
While workers watched what he had done.

Big payouts signed in leather chairs,
While workers cut off vital cares.
The stock may sink, the profits slide,
But severance grows both deep and wide.
