Dell vs NVIDIA

NVIDIA has approximately 42,000 full-time employees and just reported $96.2B in fiscal 2027 quarterly revenue, with projections to do 110B next quarter. They could easily surpass $500B within the next two fiscal years. That's nearly $12M in annual revenue per employee.

Dell Technologies reported an annual revenue of $113.5 billion with an employee headcount of approximately 97,000 full-time workers. That's 1.1M in annual revenue per employee.

NVIDIA has 43% of the total number of employees to Dell yet it is on track to bring in well over 10x the total amount of revenue per employee. Leadership!

Nvidia is hiring, Dell is firing. Nvidia is growing rapidly, Dell is dying.

No more WFR

Dell had paid a lot in wfr. Now the plan is to make things so miserable that people leave in their own. May it be useless tools, unrealistic kpis which have no relevance to actual jobs.... No growth or promotions. Just make it so bad that people leave. I am just collecting a paycheck... Just package me...

San Francisco's job market shows signs of recovery, with overall employment and tech sector jobs increasing. Mass layoffs, prevalent during the pandemic, have significantly decreased. The burgeoning AI industry is a key driver, attracting substantial venture capital and fueling local hiring. What a real AI company is accomplishing

I guess not having losers like super-engineer dragging them down is beneficial…

Anthropic's revenue surged more than 14-fold in the second quarter from a year earlier, Bloomberg News reported (https://apple.news/PAGlaYQnGi1-6TRStOjb70p) Friday, underscoring the rapid growth of the Claude chatbot maker as it prepares for a potential blockbuster initial public offering

The AI company reported preliminary revenue of more than $11.5 billion for its latest completed quarter, up from $787 million in the same period last year and $4.73 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to documents viewed by Bloomberg News.

COMPANY SO FULL OF CR-P FOR GROWTH

They say that want to have open paths to growth but for most Director level and hire only hire outside of the organization.

This company and "leaders" are horrible dont practice a word of what preach and say. Only ones that seem are those at the C Suite...I mean how many times can Prem be promoted for instance

Also if you are a male dont expect to get anywhere , company so DEI nuts they hire so unqualified people as long as you are not a white male.
I mean people told others dont hire someone but did because female. They they reduced her work and gave to others but kept.

The government cracking down on all this DEI bull, would like them to force CVS to drop it or lose contracts. Hiring bad people to follow a narrative which leads to bad mistakes is insane.

Twilio Stock Surges After Q2 Earnings

Twilio's video and voice APIs along with their voice-based AI features, are proof that this space is very much a growth market.

Cisco had the same assets and the same opportunity. Instead it filed the people building this technology under non-core, non-growth, legacy, and let them go.

The market just told Cisco what it thinks of that call.

Continued Revenue Decline Forecasted

How depressing it must be to work for a company in a hot growth market who can’t grow revenue. Get out before they RIF you. It’s like being in a bad marriage. I understand why you would stay if you have minimal savings or just like living in San Diego. But for your own mental health just walk out right now. You can thank me later.

Why should Intel just copy and paste AMD?

AmD is very successful and working model for other companies to follow. Why do managers use their excellent skills to just copy and paste to follow their working model.

  1. Get a new female PhD CEO
  2. Go fabless and abandon all fabs to save costs
  3. Stop layoffs and hire more talents to growth

Will IBM Survive in the Long Run

Don’t get me wrong. I retired from IBM and I loved my career there. I have fond memories of IBM, but I am very concerned as I watch competitors like Microsoft or AWS. While IBMs competitors enjoy double digit sales growth, IBMs sales growth has been in the single digits. Can a company grow that depends heavily on acquisitions for sales growth rather than organically growing from its own products that it invents/creates/sells/supports. How long will the board members and major shareholders accept status quo before they start looking at takeover bids from other corporations?

SolanaFloor Staff Cuts Precede Token Vesting

SolanaFloor has recently reduced its workforce just before scheduled token allocations were set to vest. The company cited rapid growth as the reason for operational inefficiencies. This timing has raised concerns among observers regarding financial management and company strategy. At least one former employee may now miss out on substantial token value. The layoffs could signal underlying financial challenges within the organization.

Starbucks Boosts Financial Outlook Amid Turnaround Success

The coffee giant has again increased its annual sales and profit projections, signaling a strong recovery. CEO Brian Niccol's strategic initiatives have successfully revitalized customer demand for the company. This positive performance has led to a notable increase in the company's stock value. Starbucks is now anticipating higher global same-store sales growth and improved earnings per share. The company's focus remains on operational improvements and cost management.

Visa Reports Record Volume, Then Cuts Tech Jobs

Visa achieved a historic milestone by surpassing $4 trillion in quarterly payments volume, demonstrating robust growth in both consumer and commercial transactions. This strong performance was further bolstered by a significant 34% year-over-year increase in value-added services revenue, largely driven by FIFA World Cup marketing initiatives. Despite this financial strength, the company announced a workforce reduction, primarily impacting technology and product roles. Management has raised its full-year earnings and revenue growth forecasts, signaling confidence in continued business momentum. The savings from these layoffs are intended to be reinvested into future growth areas like stablecoin and agentic commerce.

Major Employers Re-Embrace Hiring Amidst AI Realities

Large US corporations are signaling a return to hiring after a period of reduced staffing. Executives now recognize the limitations of artificial intelligence, necessitating continued human resource investment. This shift is evidenced by a significant drop in jobless claims, reaching historic lows. Companies like Alphabet and CSX are planning to expand their workforces to meet growth objectives. The trend suggests a move away from the belief that fewer workers equate to faster growth.

Did you know, 73% of IBMers who were placed on a PIP from 2023 to today successfully accomplished their PIP and continued to grow at IBM.

How is IBM able to maintain such a consistent track record - This would also mean for every 4 people who get assigned a PIP, only 1 would fail and be terminated. With the increase in number of PIPs that are being assigned to avoid WARN notice and save on the severance packages, the number of employees who continue to grow at IBM should also increase. Is that happening?

IBM Is Managing Decline, Not Building Growth

IBM’s problem is not that the mainframe disappears tomorrow. It is that most new workloads are being built elsewhere.

AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Linux are now the defaults for new applications, while IBM Z, AIX and IBM i increasingly depend on existing customers, transaction growth and hardware-refresh cycles.

AI is weakening the mainframe’s strongest defense: the difficulty of understanding decades of undocumented COBOL and business logic. Toyota’s use of Amazon Q to analyze legacy COBOL and support migration planning is a warning. AI does not need to replace the mainframe directly; it only needs to make leaving cheaper, faster and less risky.

IBM’s traditional software is also exposed. DataStage faces cloud-native ELT, zero-ETL, Redshift, S3 and Iceberg. Red Hat remains useful, but many customers can choose EKS, AKS or GKE instead of OpenShift—and Amazon Linux instead of RHEL.

IBM Cloud is not a credible fourth hyperscaler, and IBM is not investing in AI infrastructure at anything close to Amazon, Microsoft or Google. Its AI strategy increasingly depends on competitors owning the compute, models, distribution and economics.

Quantum offers no immediate rescue. IBM is a serious contender, not the undisputed leader, and commercial returns remain years away.

IBM has repeatedly acquired companies—Lotus, Informix, Rational and many others—without consistently creating lasting platform leadership. Continuing to buy software companies while distributing billions through dividends does not address the underlying problem.

IBM should make an honest choice: cut the dividend and reinvest aggressively, or break up and sell its valuable businesses while they still command premium value.

Harvesting legacy cash, buying another company and protecting the dividend is not a growth strategy. It is managed decline.

Alphabet Grows Workforce Amidst AI Push

Alphabet has significantly expanded its global workforce, adding nearly 12,000 employees in the past year. This hiring surge contrasts with widespread industry layoffs and reflects a strategic increase in investment in artificial intelligence and supporting infrastructure. The company reported strong financial performance, with revenue up 24% driven by cloud, advertising, and AI services. This growth is fueled by substantial capital expenditures aimed at AI data centers and advanced computing resources. Alphabet's strategy involves selective expansion in high-priority AI areas while reorganizing other business units.

Your best people quit quietly

Dr. Chris Mullen

Helping leaders work better, lead better, live better • Author, Better at Life • Keynote speaker

Your best people quit quietly Long before they resign. Top performers leave when you waste their potential.

Here are 9 real reasons they stay:

Free lunch won't keep your best people.

Neither will:

  • Happy hours
  • Casual Fridays
  • Fooz ball tables
  • Fancy coffee machines

What actually matters:

1️⃣ Genuine Appreciation.
↳ Not empty praise, but meaningful recognition.
↳ Celebrating their impact, not just their output.

2️⃣ Work That Matters.
↳ Problems worth solving, not just tasks to complete.
↳ Autonomy to make meaningful decisions.

3️⃣ Bigger Purpose.
↳ Connection to company mission that inspires.
↳ Building something they're proud to talk about.

4️⃣ Fair Compensation.
↳ Paying for impact, not just market rate.
↳ Clear path to growth in both role and rewards.

5️⃣ Leaders Who Fight For Them.
↳ Protecting their time like it's precious (it is).
↳ Having their back when it matters most.

6️⃣ Psychological Safety.
↳ Freedom to take smart risks.
↳ Trust to experiment and learn.

7️⃣ Real Influence.
↳ Voice in strategic decisions.
↳ Ideas that turn into action.

8️⃣ Rapid Growth.
↳ Challenges that stretch their capabilities.
↳ Skills that compound their value.

9️⃣ Life Beyond Work.
↳ Success without sacrifice.
↳ Energy for what matters outside work.

Great talent stays where their potential is unleashed.
Not contained. They stay where their impact is clear.
Not confused. They stay where leadership gets this right.
