New Workstation Wallpaper Dropped

...I woke-up this morning & logged-in without coffee yet, dutiful as ever, only to be blasted half awoken by the new wallpaper shooting bright white laserbeams directly into my face.

You can't hate what this place has become enough. Just so fücking stupid & pointless to have no agency in even setting a desktop background. It's still burning into my face as I gripe.

Message/orders understood - I'll only ever work when it's light outside, fücking id--ts.

I was in a meeting…

We were at 245 summer st. The room was vp’s on up. Lots of mba, egghead types. We were talking about updates to a platform, to include new offerings. I had spent 8 years on the phones and got a new gig. I felt like I could adequately describe and represent the associates who are on the front lines.

The conversation was about logical progression and workflow of a call. I insisted that not all calls flow a logical progression but many times clients get emotional. I cited several examples and case studies to make my points. The discussion became difficult, especially for this one svp bonehead who’s claim to fame was he was smarter than everyone. By the end of the meeting, because of time, the decisions made were to not change a single thing because the logic was good and the back office would just need to get more efficient.

These eggheads do not know what they’re talking about and think they’re superior to the associates.

They are removing all Medic / First Aid boxes from breakrooms from the Plano campus buildings

The rumor is that, although they have been on the walls offering antacids, ibuprofen, band aids, etc for a decade, it seems there has been an influx of new people that seem to think they can steal all of the single serve medicine packets and supplies every time they restock the supply boxes, so they have just decided we can no longer be trusted and they are removing them entirely...
Thank you thieves and exploiters... this is why we cannot have nice things!

Forum

Have anyone seen those forum video and they had a singer there? I’m wondering if Fiserv don’t have budget then where is this all money coming from? Hehehhe all these SVPs who use to spend so much love to see their budget cut! Well done, doesn’t justify laying people off due to budget

Brain dead company

The further we get past the pandemic, I wonder if anyone in the entire company has 2 brain cells to rub together.

Abby is a joke and promoted her biggest and loudest adversaries as direct reports. Like how hasn’t a corporate takeover not snuck under her nose? That alone is mind blowing

Why do some people shut the door behind them?

At this point we all know several people who've been laid off. Some will tell you where they went and why, however others won't say who hired them. Its not like they're at risk of me stealing their newly acquired job, the only reason I can think of is they don't want a bunch of WF people to get wind of and go to their new company. Just seems crazy in this market to close the door behind you when you were in the same boat as others not too long ago.

Does leadership live in an airplane?

So the new thing for execs to post on LinkedIn is “…..spent time on the ground with xyz team”. Where do these mo--nic sayings come from? Two leaders this week have used this line on LinkedIn. Do they think anyone is impressed or cares? Not as bad as Iris saying she enjoys stepping away from the boardroom to meet with teams.

Are they getting rid of the Store Scanners?

Heard September 10 is when store leadership will be told and will break the news to their team members the next morning. Is this true? I was fearing this because of the strong push with ESL rollout. Store scanners are useless now.

Only asking because I’m not sure if I should be actively seeking out employment before everyone else does.

Coincidence?

I was a top performer for years, always ignored inter-office politics, mostly got along with everybody and survived every layoff so far. A few weeks ago something happened that I couldn't ignore and had me report my manager, and now here I am, laid off. Am I wrong to find this suspicious?

LI

have u seen that linkedin in post - lol - an svp was bragging how her flight got cancelled but she got all strong and mighty, was able to overcome the challenge and persevere. what an amazing times to be alive - how much more deranged and fake can we become. makes me sick.

Stay away from NCR

I'm serious, if you can find a job anywhere else, do it. At NCR, being good at your job makes you a threat. Everybody will see you as competition, and any chance of advancement will vanish. You'll end up working for someone who, in any sane organization, would be your assistant. It's a system designed to crush ambition.

The people down there - yeah that’s you.

I work as a nobody sitting on the SLT floor everyday. They don’t even like using your bathrooms and call people that don’t work on the SLT floor “the people down there”. Do you think they care about anything you write here? They are too busy group texting each other d-mb selfies from sports game suites.

RTO enforcement

Since RTO has now been in effect for over six months, it feels like that has been long enough for a second round of hand slaps for people who are not adhering like what happened earlier in spring. Have any managers had employees flagged for not coming in enough? Just curious what the current tolerance level is.

(And, just to put it out there, if anyone is ready to pipe up that I, or others, don’t want to work, like the majority of forks opposed to RTO, I am much more productive at home and we’ll never see the value of commuting to sit on zoom calls all day with 95% of my colleagues who are still remote. So please just save your feeble little fingers the effort of typing out a response and scroll on by. K, thx!)

Mentors: People Who Want Credit for Work You Did Alone

Trust me, you do not need “mentors.” By my second year they assigned me one, and when I asked my teammates what that even meant, they all said the same thing: “We barely talk to ours.” And after my own interaction, I understood exactly why. These people aren’t mentoring anyone ,they just want to claim they’re training, developing, and guiding you so they can collect credit for work they never did. It’s corporate politics. They’re not helping you; they’re helping themselves look important. Avoid them. You’ll learn more on your own in a week than they’ll “teach” you in a year.

How many Dell PMs does it take to implement a feature?

How many Dell PMs does it take to implement a feature?

Ten minimum

  • One PM to ask engineering what features they’re working on given the PM roadmap is just whatever engineering accidentally mentions in Slack.

  • One PM to get permission from engineering to talk about the feature followed by a mandatory disclaimer from engineering stating no commitments or guarantees the feature will actually be delivered.

  • One PM to break the feature into 13 micro‑features so engineering can ship 1.5 micro stories per quarter and claim iterative customer value even though it doesn't work yet.

  • One PM to update the roadmap no one sees, trusts, or uses because it changes so often it’s basically a weather forecast.

  • One PM to create a 67‑page PowerPoint deck his manager will present as if he personally invented the feature, the product, and possibly storage itself.

  • One PM to plan the release date four years from now, which will later be delayed because engineering discovered “unexpected feature creep."

  • One PM to schedule a customer advisory call to validate the feature, then ignore all feedback because engineering thinks the customer is wrong.

  • One PM to rename the feature three times so marketing can claim it’s AI‑enhanced.

  • One PM to write the requirement and five more PMs to argue whether the requirement should exist at all or be replaced with a vision statement.

  • One PM to present the feature in an exec review where leadership will ask why it isn’t already shipping, why it isn’t generating $400M ARR, and why it doesn’t run on ARM.

Delete the problems.

Remove all parasite "leadership team" elements.

What value do they add to the operation of the company?

All some of these people do is go to meetings, spam worthless information on "YAMMER", and re-post the rubbish that their friends have published on LinkedIn .

Some of these people are job stage 8 and 9 . . . . How are these positions justified?
