All over the place… any off boarding tips?

it’s my last week and there are so many emotions.

I’m thankful for the opportunities, sad but relieved it’s over, grateful that I can take time off and figure out what’s next… overwhelmed and afraid of all the unknowns.

it’s a big change. some of my colleagues have shared that they’re “jealous” I’m leaving, but I don’t think they understand what’s really on this side of the equation. I’m freaking out!

those who are leaving this week, what needs to be done for off boarding while wrapping things up?

And now Dallas is going?

Whatever the reasons behind his departure, from where I sit Dallas was one of the few senior leaders who seemed to genuinely understand how sales at NetApp needs to function — how the field, partners, customers and internal teams actually need to work together to win.

At a time when the organisation already feels like it is going through constant change, losing someone with that level of commercial understanding raises even more questions about the direction we are heading in.

People keep talking about transformation, high achievement and driving results, but you also have to ask why experienced people who understand the business are leaving.

Who is actually listening to the people on the ground?

Red October

Store management layoffs confirmed for October. Also some addiontional divesting. Finally , some major commission changes in the works for 2027. All confirmed.

DF Transition

Does anyone have insider info on the recent announcement that DF is stepping into a smaller role? Was he pushed out, or did he choose the move? RV Ops culture is abysmal in my experience, super high strung and controlling. How do people feel about the new leader?

Shell 2028 what does it look like?

Starting to witness some changes and challenges both at the stakeholder and operational levels. The miracle of Covid hands off performance is starting to show. As assets age no amount of resilience will improve performance and productivity. The Covid era bubble is bursting. Expect serious declines and reductions in uptime with elevated OPC…

DDAT in Self Preservation Mode

DDAT locking down claude code and cutting off use by business teams that have already been using and have built substantial workflows of value at a fraction of the cost or that DDAT probably previously told them they couldn’t do right now…or they didn’t know how to do it… the AI revolution… it’s beginning…

It's happening. 5x RTO mandate is about to crack.

Enough people around Stankey have finally gotten in his ear and policy changes are in the works. Senior HR leadership is preparing to roll it out in the next 6-12 months.

It will be presented as a "change to presence report requirements."

It will most likely involve quarterly presence requirements instead of weekly, with some (probably not a ton) of leeway for occasional work from home.

The biggest factor motivating the change is problems attracting and retaining new hires - especially younger workers.

Nobody will tell Stankey directly that he was wrong, but it's being couched as "You've done an amazing job transforming our culture! We're ready to take the next step now."

He's bought into that.

Quality Leadership?

It seems as though we have lost our way to deliver high customer satisfaction. The forward models are uninspired. Quality leaders seem seem to be happy with status quo. There needs to be a change in the Quality leadership so we can start engineering vehicles customers want and deliver high satisfaction. Is it time for a new Quality Czar?

People act like Verizon is the only place that's different than it was a decade ago

It's not. Everything has shifted, the economy, the industry, the expectations. We don't have to like the changes, but complaining about them is fruitless. You have two options: adapt or find somewhere that still fits who you are. Which you might find out is not as easy these days.

Webex mobile - Its over...

Important change on how you access Webex

Keeping our data and systems secure means evolving how we work, including how we access tools like Webex. With this in mind, Webex will now follow Cisco's Trusted Device Standard and only be accessible from Cisco-trusted devices.

What to expect:
This change will roll out in phases, beginning August 31 and continuing through September. Once it takes effect, you'll be automatically signed out of Webex on all your devices. Simply sign back in on a Cisco-trusted device, such as your Cisco laptop. Going forward, you can only sign in to Webex using a Cisco-trusted device.
If you're using Android, you'll need to use the Webex app in your work profile.

Why this matters:
Adding Webex to our trusted device standard gives us an extra layer of protection for more sensitive data and helps pave the way for new Al capabilities to enhance your Webex experience.

tldr; you wont be able to use Webex on your personal phone without installing Cisco spyware that severely limits your phones usability for security reasons

Handrails

So if you don’t hold the handrail and text while stair climbing on campus does your behavior instantly change when you go offshore or to site? Oh yeah I forgot. So many of you never leave spring and don’t know what this company actually does.

Mobility rate numbers don't make sense

how is it possible that brokerage can have a mobility rate almost 40%?
am I in an echo chamber in tech where there is no mobility?
are other business functions having one in three folks or I guess higher since nothing's happening in tech change roles? is that number for a one-year time period? or is it for like their entire career at Fidelity?

SIU, Compliance, and similar departments

Any word on the SIU and similar departments? I was told there would be changes in all departments related to compliance like SIU, etc. my understanding was that there was going to be a reporting structure and work shift because of the people that took the VSP. I haven't heard anything yet for the ones that stayed behind but, has anyone heard anything?

Oblivious or Careless?

Honest question here. Do you think ELT knows what an absolute toxic environment they have created? Are they aware of how unhappy, unhealthy and miserable the employees are? Do you think the new CEO will try to begin making changes to improve employee satisfaction ? Are we ever going to see some sort of COLA ? The 2-3% for above meets isn’t cutting it nor is it making anyone put in the effort they once did when they felt appreciated, valued and respected.
