Frightenly Similar as to How Long Some of this Has Been Going On — Over 10 Years and Nothing Has Changed

I was trying to click on Elevance Health because they, along with other of Optum’s competitors, seem to be going through almost exactly same challenges Optum is.

Well, I accidentally clicked on Emblem Health, instead of Elevance, and their last post thread entries were from 2016 and they were saying and complaining about the very exact same thing as us…about the offshoring to India and Philippines, about the CEO laying people off to raise stock price and to line executive’s pockets, etc., etc. etc. It was like looking in a mirror and we are talking back 10 years ago.

The last post entries on the Emblem Health Layoff site ended after 2016 so I can only think the company went under.

Anyway, scary stuff!

One CEO

Check the 8K filings to see Clay got an increase to $1.5MM base salary retroactive to the closing in May and an LTI award of $2.7MM while everyone is told they’ll calibrate compensation next year. Clearly merit based because the merger is going sooooooo well. Everything else is a cluster F@$! Sh-t show but when I put my head down on the pillow at night I sleep well knowing we’ve got just one CEO and he’s clearly doing so well.

VA will be CEO

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if VA eventually replaces EH as CEO. A lot of people senior leaders are frustrated that we still haven’t seen the turnaround everyone was promised.

EH is unable to get the business moving again, especially around innovation, product, and brand momentum, the board is going to have to seriously consider a change. VA could be a logical next choice given his experience and understanding of the company. Sad part is that we don’t have any good replacement options with our stock teetering in the 30’s.

September Layoffs

All the major banks are going to do massive layoffs in September. Many citizens will be impacted. You all must protest!

The CEOs lack morality and they like to eat from the plates of hardworking Americans! and they love to see them go homeless. Some of the CEOs in this country are not even Americans!. They don't give a damn for any of you.

The current government is incapable of protecting citizens. Many jobs will go overseas and many Americans will be replaced by immigrants here in the country. So sad!

Expand Energy Relocates Headquarters to Houston

Expand Energy, formerly Chesapeake Energy, announced its headquarters will move from Oklahoma City to Houston by mid-2026. This relocation primarily affects executive positions, with other employees remaining in Oklahoma City. The company's interim CEO stated the move will leverage Houston's global natural gas market access. This follows a trend of energy companies relocating their main offices out of Oklahoma. Expand Energy is the second major energy firm to announce a move to Texas this month.

Insane

I’ve never seen a CEO completely ruin a company faster than Clay has managed to. Gives up the board and exec team. Doesn’t address the massive pay discrepancy between the two companies when the better performing company is the one being underpaid, and now he lets the only Exec with brains/ba--s walk in Raines.

CEO & COO News

Is the CEO Rich & COO Malaki registered with FINRA, the S.E.C. or even insurance licensed in NY State ? If not, they oversee & manage a life insurance, variable annuity, & registered products company but are not even licensed w/any of these agencies ? Find it odd about w/ the talk about unskilled labor many who have insurance licenses & are registered w/FINRA that these two don’t even have the same qualifications. How can that be ? One of the complaints about SEV was that his firm was not registered w/sec but it was (later) & he is but rich & malarki are not even on Brokercheck even though they have laid offed & supervised hundreds of people.

Check Broker Check & let us know what u find out.

This is a real head scratcher.

MetLife is really good at this

Our SLT is just so damn good at mandating the people who ACTUALLY DO THE WORK attend repetitive meetings. Apparently it's not enough to have the CEO, CFO, HR head, various EVPs pat themselves on the back for all of the wonderful things they do to make our lives easier (yes, this is sarcasm), they need to take turns leading meetings several times a month to repeat the same delusional cr-p. I just can't do this anymore. This company is so absurd.

Trouble on the Verizon... I mean horizon.

Fed-up Verizon customers are rooting for an extreme fix
"Verizon denied that SpaceX is buying it, but plenty of subscribers wish it were true."

https://www.phonearena.com/news/verizon-spacex-sale_id182603

Verizon might still be the top carrier by customer count, but that doesn't mean it's smooth sailing. A string of price hikes has caused hard feelings, and while the company is trying to smooth things over with customer-friendly offerings, it remains the most expensive provider in the US. Not everyone agrees the service justifies its premium price tag. This friction may be attracting takeover bids.

A change of hands was said to be on the horizon

Recently, rumors swirled that CEO Dan Schulman was getting the house in order for a sale to SpaceX. While Verizon rejected the report, and SpaceX has since announced plans to build its own network, many of our readers were onboard with the idea.

The majority wants Verizon sold

We polled our readers on who should buy Verizon and got 3,114 responses. While 1,239 (or 38%) want things to stay as they are, an almost equal number of readers, 1,156 (37%), want SpaceX to pull the trigger.

Another 719 readers (23%) would like it to be offloaded to someone other than AT&T, T-Mobile, and SpaceX.

Does Verizon need someone to come and save it?

Although Verizon appears to be clawing its way back, its revenue plunged 0.7% year-over-year in Q2 2026. Under Schulman, the company has been coasting on harsh cutbacks. However, slashing costs was the easy part, and now the company has to prove it has a real growth strategy.

While the Simplicity plan, Verizon Loyalty, Verizon Shine, waived activation and upgrade fees, and tax-inclusive pricing are a step in the right direction, more needs to be done. Verizon is on it, though, with chief product and revenue officer Nancy Clark telling Fierce Network that the company has more surprises in store to "break the industry mold and put customers first."

"As Dan has said, we are on a journey to become truly a customer-first organization, and we do have a series of things that we will be launching that really look to break the industry mold and put customers first." Nancy Clark, Verizon's chief product and revenue officer, August 2026

Playing it safe

Verizon has managed to steady the ship without igniting a price war, which suggests the company wants to play it safe. While Q2 performance was impressive, BNP Paribas senior analyst Sam McHugh notes that the company isn't investing enough in network infrastructure. Throw in intense competition and slowing industry growth, and it's easy to see why the buyout rumor popped up. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

SK's travel

So nice to see that our intrepid CEO took time away from his busy travel schedule to appear on the field at Yankee stadium. Always love getting these updates on our jet-setting, pl----y, CEO who does no actual work aside from finalizing decisions on how to pay us all as little as possible.

I'm excited about our future.. lol

Here’s a cleaned-up, more coherent version that keeps your original tone and meaning:

Rumors started about 60 days ago of a possible CEO change, a bonus for employees after a record quarter, and Mondays working from home.

I’d been hearing the CEO-replacement rumor for a while and was hoping it would happen, but it looks like a big fat no. So when I first heard whispers about a bonus, my reaction was “Oh he-l no… HE-L no.” I was pleasantly surprised when that one turned out to be true.

As for Mondays working from home—I’d be surprised if it actually happens, but I don’t think it’s completely off the table. The company is global and we aren’t needed in the office every day, so it could be a real work-life-balance perk. The whispers about it are growing the same way the bonus rumors did, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Still, I’m disappointed the CEO is still here.

(And glad you can use an AI agent after having an IT person come in and type it in for you.)

Shareholders Approve CEO Pay Hike Amid Layoffs

Monday.com shareholders overwhelmingly approved significant compensation increases for its co-CEOs, nearly doubling their annual pay packages. This decision comes despite the company's recent announcement of a substantial workforce reduction and a decline in its market capitalization. The company cited impressive past performance and a desire to align executive compensation with industry peers. However, investors are concerned about the company's future growth prospects in the evolving AI landscape. The approved plan significantly boosts equity awards for the CEOs.
