SIU, Compliance, and similar departments

Any word on the SIU and similar departments? I was told there would be changes in all departments related to compliance like SIU, etc. my understanding was that there was going to be a reporting structure and work shift because of the people that took the VSP. I haven't heard anything yet for the ones that stayed behind but, has anyone heard anything?

Oblivious or Careless?

Honest question here. Do you think ELT knows what an absolute toxic environment they have created? Are they aware of how unhappy, unhealthy and miserable the employees are? Do you think the new CEO will try to begin making changes to improve employee satisfaction ? Are we ever going to see some sort of COLA ? The 2-3% for above meets isn’t cutting it nor is it making anyone put in the effort they once did when they felt appreciated, valued and respected.

Head Start Program Faces Funding Cuts

Proposed changes to the Head Start program could lead to significant negative consequences. Advocates warn that these alterations may result in the dismissal of teachers. Furthermore, the quality of educational standards could be compromised. These potential outcomes raise concerns about the program's future effectiveness. In office mandate

So TRP is finally making all of these groups that had full-time work from home come into the office 4 days a week just like the rest of us. TRP you finally did something right! Living up to your constant preaching of equality for a change.

AI Drives Workforce Shifts at Two Companies

Centrica and Monday.com are implementing significant workforce reductions due to evolving customer preferences and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. Centrica will eliminate 1,300 roles over two years, citing a shift towards digital customer interactions. Monday.com is cutting approximately 620 jobs, about 20% of its global staff, to restructure its business around AI development. Both companies state these changes are necessary to adapt to industry transformations and changing market demands. Concerns have been raised about the impact on vulnerable customers who may struggle with AI-driven services.

So many familiar faces are leaving

People I respected, and people who seemed happy until a few years ago. It tells you a lot about how much this place has changed in just a few short years. Even I'm starting to look at my options, and I've been at Optum for more than fifteen years. This is simply not the same company I joined.

Vote in Annual Member Meeting

For those who love to see all these complaints and pity that fly around this forum, this is your chance to make a change. Go to your proxy site and vote as you wish. If there are enough of you, you’ll have your way. If you are too lazy to even click on a button on your phone screen, then quit complaining.

Target Mandates Increased Office Presence

Target is requiring its merchandising employees to return to the office four days per week, an increase from the previous three-day mandate. This change affects buyers, planners, and inventory management staff. The company stated that increased in-person collaboration will lead to faster decision-making and stronger partnerships. This move aligns with a broader trend of companies increasing in-office requirements for employees. The new policy takes effect in early September.

One NM™

One NM™

Interesting. Twenty years ago we watched many greedy 1% globalists in many company leadership launch “One ___” transformations.

Different logo. Different PowerPoint template. Same promise:

  • Break down silos.
  • Align the organization.
  • Transform the culture.
  • This time it’s different.

The only real update for 2026 seems to be replacing “Digital Transformation” with “AI Transformation.”

Somewhere, a McKinsey consultant dusted off the old “One Company” deck, asked ChatBot to modernize the buzzwords, swapped “cloud” for “AI,” and sent the invoice.

The cynic in me is waiting for Phase 2:

  • Announce AI.
  • Hire consultants.
  • Reorganize org charts.
  • Explain why “global talent strategy” is the future and replace employees with offshore sweatshops and indentured foreigners.
  • Celebrate short-term cost savings.
  • Wonder five years later where all the institutional knowledge went.

History doesn’t repeat itself—it just gets rebranded.

Recent Changes to PADP/MLRP

Does management genuinely believe the recent PADP/MLPR changes are the best way for EM to meet its goals? If the real aim is headcount reduction, there are far less damaging approaches that don’t undermine morale. Does EM HR, the MC or board truly see these changes as strengthening the company, given the risks they introduce?

Make the tough choices

Layoffs will continue to target citizens. Offshoring will continue to happen to India. Then those same people will be brought back in L1b in 4-5 years back to USA. Make tough choices once you open your own business and hire locally. Change needs to start at a grassroots level, vote for policies which are towards tougher immigration policies. 20 years down, US cities will be worse than Toronto. It is in our hands now.

09/04 Separation date

I applied for VSP and I can honestly say that after 15 yrs with company I am ok if they offer an earlier separation date than 09/04. I’m truly exhausted with all the changes within the company over that past few years. I don’t know what the future holds for me but I’m gonna step out on faith. My mental can’t survive this place much longer. Anyone else feeling like this?
