One CEO
Check the 8K filings to see Clay got an increase to $1.5MM base salary retroactive to the closing in May and an LTI award of $2.7MM while everyone is told they’ll calibrate compensation next year. Clearly merit based because the merger is going sooooooo well. Everything else is a cluster F@$! Sh-t show but when I put my head down on the pillow at night I sleep well knowing we’ve got just one CEO and he’s clearly doing so well.
Merger - likely layoffs
If you work in customer service, logistics, planning, pricing, etc - be prepared to train your replacement in costa rica after the huntsman merger. They're for sure going to leverage the global service center in order to hit the 400 million synergy targets.
Railway Age
Shane keller wasnt relevant when he was forced to retire from UP years ago. Now he's trying real hard to get attention with a merger support article in Aug 25 Railway Age article. In his brilliant words, not mine, his guilt states hes not paid to support the merger, yet fair to say if he spent 30+ years at UP hes still a huge shareholder and benefiting quite handsomely from stocks rise from 220 to $310. Pretty sure Kellers getting paid for such a ridiculous article. STB needs to review this. Keller is chairman at Compass and likely wants to win some UP business....different company now and one that stands to benefit greatly, by supporting UP. An inside job even while on the outside. What a disgrace...

Merck KGaA Cuts US Research Staff
Merck KGaA's North American division, EMD Serono, has laid off 20 employees at its Billerica, Massachusetts research site. This reduction follows a previous announcement about enforcing onsite work requirements at the same location. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect in late October. The company stated the decision was made to better support its R&D approach and future needs. This move is part of a broader trend of downsizing its American R&D operations as it shifts focus to external innovation.

FTX Overload
Keep your eyes open , name of the game is FTX until you limit out on MAPS , then your gone BEFORE the merger ! managers may choose who they test more , the use of drone FTX and camera FTX will increase substantially along with bird dogging. No back filling thoes who retire ... adds up to a skeleton crew of crafts left and that equals shop consolidations. Oh you'll have a job...... wherever they decide to send you that is.
If/When we merge, what tech stack are we using?
Ours or Warners? Doesn’t it make sense to ingest all the Warner content into P+ and call it good or are we just going scrap everything we’ve built for the past 4 years?
lowering head count for an upcoming merger/sale?
“IMO lowering head count for an upcoming merger/sale.”
This was a comment on one thread, and I have heard someone else at work say the same.
Do we think this is what’s going on here?
Are there any possible pros to staying after a sale?
I also heard Abby got fed up with reporting showing that people were not doing as much work from home. (Obviously many of us work better at home and it could have been taken up with those folks. Now everyone’s being punished.
Zaslav sold another $27.1 million in company stock
This should tell you everything you need to know about how much confidence he has in the company's future once the merger is completed. I'm still holding out hope that it might get blocked, but I know that's almost impossible. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I just don't see a way for this to turn out well, especially for employees.
MPC & P66 merger
Just read an article about merger talks earlier this year. Nothing materialized and nothing more is expected to happen but it made me wonder what the combined company would have been like to work for after the merger.
Having joined MPC from Andeavor/Tesoro, I know things got noticeably worse once MPC took over. Both in little and big ways, it’s not been as enjoyable, fulfilling, and rewarding to work at MPC. No doubt MPC has created shareholder value way beyond what was thought possible at Andeavor but I’m 99.99% an employee and only 0.01% a shareholder so I’m not feeling much of that “value add” from MPC.
So, all that is to say: Would an MPC/P66 company have been better or worse?
merger layoffs
20 cut from IT this week- almost all of them are over 40. and that’s on G4 side after months of hearing we would be unscathed. trying to meet numbers no matter what it takes…
Comcast - The next merger?
when do we start the merger with Comcast? before the administration changes I'm sure? are they just going to create a small new company like Altice/Optimum did to place all of their debt in and let that portion go bankrupt?
Rumor: Uniti + Fidium Fiber
anyone else hearing that merger rumor?

Layoffs aug/sept
I have heard of a merger with the PSLs. From 12 to 8 PSLs. This has come with layoffs. Can someone confirm this? What is going on? There is always something happening. I read the other chat saying it could be because of Shannon taking over Jeff.
Fifth Third Bank Cuts More Jobs Post-Comerica Deal
Fifth Third Bank is implementing further workforce reductions in the Detroit area following its acquisition of Comerica Bank. The bank recently informed the state of its intention to eliminate 234 positions at the former Comerica Operations Center in Auburn Hills. These latest layoffs are scheduled to take effect by September 11. This brings the total number of job cuts related to the merger to over 700 in Michigan. The specific reasons for these additional job cuts were not disclosed.

Was the merit increase never planned?
When LP communicated no merit increases in Q1, he mentioned that if results were good in Q2, he would reopen the topic. Well, LP tells Wall Street everything is great, rosy, awesome, right on track, etc. and then a week or so later tells the employees the results were bad, and they will look at raises in 2027. That was a gut punch, since this will make 3 years without a raise. My VP told me that his SVP promised raises in August, but we had to sell and inkjet or I would not be eligible. Why do our leaders make promises they can't keep? Here's an idea, maybe fund raises with cutbacks. since we bought Lex, I now have not 1, not, 2, but 3 "VP/SVPs between me and my old SLT SVP. We added 3 layers of people that I have no clue what they do. Why not cut some layers like you are supposed to do with a merger, and fund worker bee merits
Lisata Axes Majority of Staff After Deal Collapse
Lisata Therapeutics has significantly reduced its workforce by approximately 72% following the termination of a merger agreement with Kuva Labs. This drastic measure aims to lower operating expenses and conserve cash for the company's strategic future. The biotech is also pursuing legal action against Kuva Labs, alleging a breach of their merger contract. Lisata is seeking damages and a previously agreed-upon termination fee. Some laid-off employees may be rehired as consultants.

Walmart to layoff more associates in San Bruno
Walmart intends to reduce San Bruno staffing mid to late August 2026. August has traditionally been a favorite month for Walmart to lay off associates.
No big deal, though. San Bruno is the leftover bastion from the failed merger, and this appears to be just more cleanup and wind down. There is some speculation, however, that other locations might be hit, as well. We’ll see as more info leaks.
Merger Bonus?
Any rumblings of some sort of merger bonus going to take place? Should be the least they can do for such a painful drawn out merger process.
Which would be worse -or- what might be better?
Which is the best (or worst) outcome here: (1) Insight is acquired by a Capgemini, NTT Data, Computacenter, Infosys, or Accenture - say its for their client footprint, onshore presence, vendor logistics, or whatever - or (2) PE steps in. Perhaps its Thoma Bravo, Francisco Partners, KKR, Apollo, etc - for the sake of executing a restructuring and margin optimization buy-and-build strategy without the public stock scrutiny - or (3) things remain the same. The same old same old same old same old Q-after-Q paper cut plan. What is the better option? 1, 2, or 3??? The wide range M&A Premium would place an implied price between $160 to $185/share. Enterprise market cap value minus net debt (~$1.3B) leaves decent forward P/E earnings power. What would you like to see happen? Which would be worse - what might be better?
Good News! No More Layoffs for 2026
It’s official! There will be no more layoffs this year due to the DT merger cancellation! Thank you Lord Jesus! 🙏
Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Flushing Bank Cuts Staff Post-Merger
Flushing Bank will lay off 174 employees at its Uniondale headquarters starting August 10. These reductions follow the bank's merger with OceanFirst Financial Corp. The affected staff represent nearly half of the headquarters' workforce. Layoffs are expected to continue through December 31. This action is a common outcome of bank consolidation.

Sept Layoffs?
Hearing rumblings about September layoffs now that the merger has been delayed. Anyone else hear anything?
Any news from Europe ?
I heard the UK lost a lot of staff in Q2 but have any other European countries been affected ? Some Euro colleagues I spoke with said things were on hold due to the BT merger.
Get ready for the headshot/memo galore
Since the EU gave approval for the merger and the US petty states are getting restraining orders. To make the Ellison's bleed a little bit longer. Which is pointless as pretty much the Ellison's have a suit of lawyers. Ones that have gone to the highest courts.
Get ready for our upper MGMT (directors and above) to be getting AI memos and toupees mug shots. Trying to claw a clear pathway on the rungs on this ladder.
The deal is done. Merger approved. A bunch of bloodbaths coming soon near your next dynamic broadcast. Stop holding on.. on second thought. This layoff is so-called cleaning house/overlapping functions....happens with mergers/acquisitions. Saw many heads hacked from top to bottom throughout my tenure and left voluntarily after 7 years.....could hear the axe being sharpened again. Turbulent times then....and still today. BUT so glad I moved on to a better/bigger life.

Antitrust Coalition Blocks Major Media Merger
A coalition of twelve states, led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, has filed a lawsuit to block the proposed $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. The states argue that the consolidation would reduce competition, leading to higher prices, lower quality content, and fewer opportunities for diverse storytelling in the film and television industry. Paramount has stated that the lawsuit misapplies antitrust laws and that they will vigorously defend the transaction. The Department of Justice had previously investigated and concluded the merger would increase competition. Industry observers note that smaller, independent filmmakers are already demonstrating market viability, challenging the necessity of such large-scale consolidation.
