EverPure gains from Dell Layoffs

For years, Pure Storage was an also ran compared to XtremIO. Occasionally some disgruntled EMC/Dell employee would wind up there.
Now, I’m retired now, but I see a lot of former Dell employees announcing on Linked in that they are now with EverPure. Congrats and best of luck on a long career.

Some good news for once.

There is life after Dell.
I left at my own accord, EMEA based, 20 years in ISG, 50+ years old. So basically the sweet spot for some of the trolls on this site :-)

Started looking last year when the "return to office" fad was at it's peek. I applied for over 30 roles, I got 6 interviews, 2 ended in no offer, 1 ended in a offer lower than my salary and then 2 that matched my salary and 1 where my salary increased. I accepted one that matched my salary and I am (so far) very happy with the change. I purposely chose smaller companies and business areas that was interesting to me and in a way quite a bit different than my previous role.

Now for all of you who for some reason believe that skills acquired in a multinational, experience and business understanding is somehow not valued outside, You need to think again... In all the interviews I had I can tell you that the skills you have are very much sought after and they are transferable. If you have skills and experience from: Technical Support, Services, Sales, Pre-Sales, Business Operations, Business Analysts, Service Delivery, Customer Success, Management, Business Processes, AI, Automation etc etc you have skills that are transferable. And there are opportunities out there (I did find loads of "junk" job listings though, very annoying)

With all the nonsense being posted on this site I thought I would let you know that there are alternatives out there...

County Rescues Jobs with State Funds

Santa Barbara County has successfully reduced its planned staff layoffs. This positive development comes after receiving an unexpected increase in state funding. The additional money will allow the county to reinstate 15 positions that were previously slated for elimination. These restored jobs were part of a larger effort to address the county's tight financial situation and balance its budget. Consequently, the total number of layoffs has decreased significantly.

Auburn Schools Avoid Cuts, Boost Staff

The Auburn School District has successfully balanced its budget for the upcoming school year without any necessary cuts. Despite a slight projected decrease in student enrollment, the district anticipates an increase in both certificated and classified staff. Expenditures have risen, but revenues have also seen an increase, leading to a stable financial outlook. The district plans to purchase new school buses and is proposing a bond measure for a new middle school. This positive financial outcome contrasts with neighboring districts that are implementing significant staff reductions.
