Sudden layoff

They suddenly deactivated my account without anyone warning me. I was working on an important project and have a delivery next month. I know there are various layoffs happening in Europe, but usually they warn you before canceling your account. Has this happened to anyone else here? I don't understand if it's a mistake or a layoff.

MPS Announces Significant Staff Reductions

Milwaukee Public Schools has informed 201 employees that their positions will be eliminated at the conclusion of the current academic year. This action is a direct result of approved budget cuts aimed at reducing overall staffing. The layoffs are part of a broader plan to eliminate approximately 260 jobs within the district. These reductions were formally approved by the Milwaukee School Board earlier in March. The affected employees received official notification on March 24.

Have any managers received this invitation yet?

Laid off yesterday

Integral ad science did a round of layoffs yesterday. The amount of employees laid off is unknown at this time.
From the new ceo Lidiane jones “ Realigning the company behind these objectives means that we have to make hard decisions about teams’ structures, reporting lines, responsibilities and roles across the company. This means certain roles have been eliminated and we will be saying goodbye to a number of our colleagues.

In some regions, including the U.S., we will be notifying impacted employees today and are aiming to have individual conversations with impacted employees regarding transition support and next steps. In Europe, we are initiating formal consultation, review and/or individual discussion processes as required by local laws. Exact timing and processes may differ in certain countries based on local requirements. ”

Severance package question

I heard that the standard severance package at State Street is 2 weeks for every year of service, with a 10-week minimum. However, I'm wondering whether this severance package is offered on top of the 2-month period between the notification date and the termination date (i.e., 2 months on payroll without active work), or whether it's offered instead of those 2 months on payroll.

Layoffs 8/10-8/12

People being laid off will be informed between 8/10 and 8/12 next week. Leadership had to inform HR this past week who would be the one doing the notifying of the individual that is being laid off, those people went through a layoff training and now we just wait for the meetings to pop up on our calendar.

Involuntary Layoffs August

With the staggering dates, will there be involuntary layoffs mid August? If so, these employees would have been identified for the restructuring. Is there an explanation anywhere of why those that didn’t opt for VSP haven’t been notified and will their dates be extended until possibly Nov 2027?

Layoffs

So let me get this straight. According to the VSP FAQ - Following the VSP, we do expect that we will need to make further restructuring decisions, and expect to notify anyone whose role is impacted by mid-August. NOW the ones who want to go have to wait it out till next year, but the ones who didn’t take or were not eligible for VSP could be let go? Please please make this make sense? How? And why?
