Redeployment Center

I got laid off almost two weeks ago. I received a personal and work email for a job offer. It’s Employee Installation Representative. It’s for 5 months. It would not mess with my severance. I would get paid what I was making. Has anyone else received an email Iike this or accepted this?

Refinery offer Design engineering concern

I’m coming from a different industry and recently received an offer from Chevron for a design engineering position. I’m hesitant to accept the offer, even though the compensation is slightly better than my current company.
My biggest concern is Chevron’s use of engineering outsourcing, particularly to India. I’m worried that, over time, my position could be outsourced or eliminated and the work could be transferred to India.Should I accept the offer despite this concern, or would it be better to reject it because of the potential long-term risk to job security? What factors should I consider when evaluating the stability and future prospects of this position?

Interview with a recruiter

I have an interview with a recruiter for an internal position I applied to. Any idea what they ask? I am guessing technical questions are reserved for an interview with the hiring manager. Also my application status still shows applications received despite recruiter sending me interview invite. Is this one of those fake positions?

TekSynap Announces Significant Job Cuts

TekSynap is planning to lay off 69 employees due to the conclusion of contract work. These layoffs will occur in three phases, starting in October and concluding by the end of December. The affected positions include wireless engineers, project managers, and network specialists. While many employees work remotely, the company's Virginia headquarters is listed as the affected site. TekSynap is exploring alternative assignments for some workers, which could reduce the total number of layoffs.

Salesforce Announces Further Job Reductions

Salesforce is implementing another round of layoffs, impacting 74 employees at its San Francisco headquarters. These permanent job cuts are scheduled to occur on October 5th. This marks the fourth set of Bay Area layoffs for the company in less than a year. These reductions align with a broader trend of significant job cuts across the tech industry in 2026. Many tech companies are citing the adoption of artificial intelligence as a reason for reducing their workforces.

Over 300 employees at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will lose their jobs. This layoff is due to a contract change. SP Plus lost its airport contract to LAZ Parking Texas LLC. Should I accept an offer and move?

I’ve recently been offered a corporate position in a software development role that pays more than other offers I’ve received. I’m a US citizen, and I’d have to relocate to Jersey City for the role. Is it worth relocating to a more expensive city with Schwab?

My current company is constantly laying departments off and outsourcing, and I’m worried about going to a similar or worse environment.

What are people even working on?

Are EchoStar employees still calling themselves “disruptors”?. The pay TV business is bankrupt, satellite TV is dying, Sling isn’t competitive, the wireless strategy has been abandoned, and Hughes is under pressure… what exactly are you disrupting? I have an offer but I am wondering if it’s even worth taking

Interview

Got a phone interview scheduled with another company for this Friday afternoon. The position is with a local oncology clinic. Starting pay pretty dang close to what I make now after ten years. I didn't take the VSP, and obviously haven't been notified if my position within EBOS is being cut as I guess that's supposed to happen within the next couple of weeks or so. But with all that going on in CC with seemingly no positive changes on the horizon, it might be wise for me to, in the famous words of Cobra Kai, "strike first." What do y'all think?

The days of high paying tech roles is over with.

You are being let go so that they can loop back around with the same job openings at much much lower pay with the reasoning that AI does the bulk of the decision making.
The 6 figure tech job will very soon be a thing of the past. This plan is unfolding right before your eyes now. Don’t let the lie you tell yourself of “maybe not me” manifest into a false sense of security. Your days a literally numbered on the calendar. Good luck everyone.

Can't afford to leave

I've been job hunting for a while now, and I've gotten some offers, but nothing that matches what I make here. That's pretty concerning because Exxon hasn't been known for top-tier pay for years, yet the offers I'm getting are still noticeably lower. I knew the market had softened, but I didn't realize it was this bad.

Referrals?

Hi guys-
I’ve never referred anyone before but my husband has been out of work for 4 months and a role is opening up (5 day internal hold right now) for the public that he is 100% qualified for.

Looking for anyone with experience in the referral process. Please don’t say “don’t do it” we can’t live on a one household income. Do they always call referrals? Does it flag to HR? Is there a way to message the hiring manager? We have different last names and won’t be announcing our relationship status.

Has anyone been hired internally and negotiated pay?

Has anyone applied internally, was hired, then you were able to negotiate pay? I’m hearing there is a max of 8-10% from your current pay you can be increased. Is this true? I am going to apply for a position and have a great shot at it but need to be able to negotiate pay for this role.

When to accept new job offer?

Based on the language in the VSP offer details, does anyone know if accepting a job offer before your last day with Centene and before you officially sign the VSP agreement will void your eligibility for the VSP and you won't receive your severance payment?

Or should you only officially accept a job offer with another employer after your last day with Centene and after you sign the VSP agreement in September?

Supreme Court Allows Trump to Strip TPS

Has anyone been keeping up with this? Many will lose jobs/careers again with this latest decision handed down last week. Opportunities will become available for natural born citizens again as well. There are ups and downs with this one:

Fake interviews

I interviewed for a job and didn’t get it. Fine. But now it seems like I was just one of the minority candidates they had to interview so they could give the guy they wanted his new role. How do I know? I was talking to a guy who said he was “starting his new job soon” and later I found out it was the one they had me interview for. I don’t care who gets the job but don’t waste my time. Didn’t they already get sued for fake interviews?

SAS Cuts 300 Jobs Across Company

Exit Date July 13 for those notified after May 13 earnings - many choices internal role or outside

Comments if your exit date is set as your departure (taking the package), Or choosing to roll. There are few internal jobs posting but not sure if real or posted just for fake pretend. I applied for every job I could, over 100 internal jobs. Four interviews, but no offer.

Tough job market currently, hope few land.

Terrible offer, terrible process, terrible company!

I recently went through an interview process for a role in upstream. Not a normal process and the interviews some of the strangest I’ve ever had. I was asked for pay slips then after some months of radio silence was made an offer. The offer claimed Aramco is a “wealth building opportunity”, yet the package on offer was 30% less than my current comp. Seriously, who moves jobs for a pay cut? I politely refused!

Got a Fedex letter from Oracle, asking me to apply for some positions

Anyone else got it? I'm in SF bay area, and the letter has couple job codes for bay area too. It asks me to apply for those.
Why does Oracle send out this letter by Fedex? It seems they laid off too many people, and they're desperately looking for new ones. I just had a long vacation, and planned to start looking for new job now, so I'm thinking if I should apply. If I do, and got the offer, do I need to return the package I got earlier?
