"You get what you pay for"

Recently I went on vacation. People commented that I was more like myself after a few days.

When I returned to work the bitterness and frustration returned by lunchtime. The only path for me is out of here.

Incompetent and inept Accenture workers treated like the "stars of the show" when they are sh-t. Once something comes up complicated or they do not have For Dummies style steps to go through they are fked. And there are too many managers.

Why can't they fire some of them for a change? They won't have to do year end/bonus reviews or approve timesheets for the offshore workers. They have their own boss in their country who will lie for them, just like they did when they passed off unskilled workers as "experienced".

There used to be a saying "You get what you pay for". It needs to make a comeback. They are so high on the "savings" they will blast through this place with a chainsaw. Next level clown management. I noticed that in many cases only white men are kept after the cuts.

Really take stock of how you are when in office and when away for an appreciable amount of time. This place is toxic and should come with a warning label. At some point the money is just not worth it.

How much is your formal notice before termination date and are they deducting that notice from your lump sum severance ?

If you got 8 weeks notice was your severance package 18 months less 8 weeks?

Is anyone getting longer formal notice? Did anyone get like 6 months formal notice so that severance was significantly reduced ? (18 months, less 6 months ?)

MyWork requests

Anyone have experience getting approved to work remotely to help a family member with medical issues? My mom lives with me and broke her hip a while back. She’s coming home from rehab soon and I need to work from home for a while to be safe. She’s fine with her walker so I don’t need to help her all day. With WPE changes, wondering if it’s even worth my time applying.

Questionable Hiring

This company has become so toxic. I am an internal candidate applying to do what I went to graduate school for and have over a decade of experience doing the tasks at the company. I have mentors very high up in the department. I reached out to the hiring manager when I applied and she wanted to interview me. 2 months went by under “pending further review.” I get my denial today stating I was qualified but they went with someone else. I email the manager asking for polite feedback. I never got the interview I was promised. When I asked for feedback? I got no response. Completely unprofessional.

What has happened? Is this just nepotism? I don’t think I want to work for a company that has such toxic hiring practices. This is just across the board. For every position you apply you get treated like trash, regardless of how many years you have with the company. It’s absolutely outrageous that we treat our internal candidates like this.

This just stiffens my resolve to leave this backwards company. So much for over a decade wasted at this company.

ACS nightmare

That was one heck of a call today. We are going to lose 50% of IOT customers and new leadership doesn’t care. Who’s ready for this wild ride?

Pond aeration

Am I imagining things or did the ponds in campus used to have fountains? There was a breeze the other day and the pond was smelling aweful. Did they turn the aeration off to try save some money?

No more RIFs

Get back to work!

Before you downvote or respond with a negative comment, think for a moment (be aware) why you are doing so. Is it because you want to be put out of the misery but this post pours cold water over it?

Why so many Directors report to Directors?

I’m talking specifically Individual contributor Directors (no direct reports) reporting to Directors (not MD). Even BS “Director in Project Management”. Explain that one. You someone’s kid? Got dirt on someone? Why pay a bloated salary to a director of no one, instead of a Sr Manager?

BTC Expat Visa Fees

I recall seeing a post on this forum a while back where there was a government website that listed all the positions that ExxonMobil has had to pay the $100K visa fee for that were posted and the salaries for those positions. Does anyone have that link? One of the positions I recall was in EMTECH which had a salary of $500K without the visa fee. How is it that the company thinks it is saving money on these positions by filling them with TC expats? Is it because they don't have to pay their benefits or US 401K and pensions? Could someone shed some light on how that all works?

Will start looking for other work if my team is hit again

My team has been reduced by 30% in the last year while Oracle GPT has not made us 30% more efficient. The people let go in the last layoff had been at Oracle a long time which has made things harder slower too. My job has turned into a death by meeting multitasking he-l.

I’ll be looking for other companies to work for if my team is reduced again.
