Observations

It’s like a microcosm in here and a good analysis of human psychology. I’ve noticed that the longer this drags out, the more stressed people become, and in turn, the more they turn on each other with nastiness. It’s no wonder that “the people” can never topple those in power. We are too busy toppling each other.

Honeyhell ruined my life

Since I left a few months ago, I'm a new man. I didn't even realize how bad that place had become for my health. If you're finding yourself adding more and more medication on your list, try finding something else. You'll be shocked how your health will improve once you're out of there.

The one-year mark

Walked out a year ago and the weight lifted immediately. I'm a completely different person now. I can't tell you how much my life has improved now that I don't spend more than a third of each day stressing and surrounded by a toxic environment. If you can, leave. It'll make all the difference.

Veritas ruined Gainwell and HMS

Is their strategy to hire more VPs and fire people who understand the business? Veritas - if you are reading this...you are stressing out the staff and ruining what should be a profitable well run business. Stop hiring d-mb VPs who don't know the business and start taking care of your long-time staff. Your bad decisions are risking the point of no return. Who's going to buy this business when our competitors can wait for bids and just take our contracts. HMS used to be a great business but everyone who remembers the 'good old days' is gone. The executives are waiting for their big payday and couldn't care less. This is a model of how not to run a business or how to run a decent business into the ground. If you are an executive: Make smarter decisions or resign! The good staff at Gainwell are tired of this sh-t! Veritas should be embarrassed at how this acquisition turned out! You are a bunch of losers!!

Micromanage

The micromanaging has begun I believe! In the last 2 days we have received emails about a pattern of attendance-related activity like too many call ins when the last 2 months have been so stressful and we are to update teams every time we step away from our desk for some reason. This has not been an issue before but is now?!?

D.C. Schools See Enrollment Drop

Enrollment in Washington D.C. schools has declined. This decrease is linked to heightened anxieties within immigrant communities. Families are reportedly experiencing increased risks of deportation. Concerns also exist about harassment on the way to educational institutions. These factors are contributing to a stressful environment for English learner families.

Not a relaxing weekend

I was certain that once most of the things were wrapped up, I'd be able to enjoy my weekends again. Yet here I am, still unable to let go and relax. I guess we've been under pressure for so long that some of us have forgotten what it's like not to have to worry, at least for a few months.

A little breather

Look. I’m stressed out like the next person. The lack of clarity is exhausting.

BUT ….

Today I saw 2 things on Instagram that helped (a little):

(Search)

  1. Cows after they had been shampooed and conditioned
  2. Dogs under water

Neither will disappoint.
Both will likely help you smile.

I can’t offer job security, but I’ll do my best to bring you some joy.

Medical WFH?

Has anyone tried to get a medical exemption from RTO? Went to my doctor yesterday and found my blood pressure up 20 points from last year, cholesterol, blood sugar up too. My doc asked if I was under a lot of stress at home or work. Told him about RTO after 10 years of remote work and the stress of the commute. He offered to prescribe remote work. Will USB honor this or will they fight? Do I just give the note to my manager?

Literally crying at my desk this morning...

This place, it's stress, having been on so many teams, underpaid for years & realizing my loyalty means nothing, my never make mistakes in the work means nothing. I'm a 43yo man literally at his desk in tears because I can't make ends meet.

I got a notice about student loan repayments - mine will go from previously $50/mo to $850/mo after the SAVE fiasco. I will no longer have money for food, if I pay all my other bills & rent. Forget ever buying a home, just at the cusp of being really able to save in life, now this. This place has fu---d me over financially for YEARS & I've been unable to get out from under it.

No kids, never arrested, no points on my license, excellent credit, did all the right things in life, no illicit substance use, almost never drink, only for this company to underpay, overwork, & sc--w me simply because our Indian CEO can and will ship my job abroad for a third of the cost. This arbitrage isn't what I signed-up for, I signed-up for a fair progressive career.

So here I am, crying at my desk at Hopkins, can't take a sick day because Qasim is a sociopath & I'm on 'a list' of people who use ssl (what the actual fu-k, it's disgusting). Come find me, maybe help push me off the 3rd floor parking deck later, I'm not that heavy.

You read that right. This place is the root of all of my life problems. I'm a loser & deserve what's coming.

I hate being a WellCare member services rep now

I’ve been VTOing and requesting PTO in my IEX for the last 2 past weeks. Centene has really stressed me out. I don’t feel like clocking in or participate in my weekly team meetings. Supervisors and team lead states there’s nothing to worry about and to not stress. I call bullsh-t. They been on my di-k cause my stats/metric have changed recently, my AHT is higher than usual and I’m overly annoyed their slick a-s comments about my performance. Is anyone else experiencing major micromanaging issues? Enough is enough, at this point I’ve applied for FMLA because I can’t take handle the energy and fake empathy from my supervisor.

How Centene's Leadership Destroyed Morale

In reading all of the forum posts on Centene lay-offs, the one common denominator is how the lack of information, misinformation and blatant lies has systematically destroyed the morale of almost every employee who has/or currently worked there! The level of stress the employees have had to endure seems unnecessary and borderline cruel. So much for a CEO that preaches transparency and doing the right thing.

The sad part is that there's no 'over' after today

In the past, layoffs were final. They took a day or two to let everybody know and after that we could refocus on our work. Now, even after this round is done, we know more will be coming. In a month, two, or six, but we all know it's coming. There's no reprieve anymore. Just constant stressing.

I'm so sick of the stress

EH is destroying this place, and nobody seems to give a damn outside of us, since we're the only ones truly affected by it. We have to do more work, we have to deal with lost benefits, we have to handle the increasingly toxic culture. I don't know how much longer I can take it.

Living in fight-or-flight

I can't remember the last time I felt calm at work. Every time my phone buzzes, I brace myself for bad news. Every meeting invite makes my stomach drop. I catch myself holding my breath during leadership emails. It's not just stress, it's a constant state of low-grade panic. I know I can't keep living like this, but I don't know how to turn the volume down. I'm starting to realize that leaving might be the only way to get my head back above water.

Can people stop inventing numbers?

Is your goal to make people panic? You don't know what's coming. Unless you're part of the C-suite, you have no idea how many people will be laid off and when. This is all a guessing game, and stating it as fact can only serve to further erode people's mental health through unnecessary stress. Just stop it.

MCO or?

Are we still at an MCO Or has this turned into fast paced thriller featuring hidden identities, strange disappearances, dark secrets and shocking plot twists reminiscent of Harlan Coben's Netflix series?
The information is much better hidden and protected then Dr. Fauci's diary.

This is so exhausting and draining.

IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON THE INVOLUNTARY LAYOFF PLEASE SHARE HERE

I feel like the company is just committing psychological warfare at this point. I called HR this morning, and they said the HR department is not informed at all about involuntary layoffs. This whole process from upper "management" goes beyond unprofessional. Sarah London stated that there would be layoffs in the first week of August. I am now hearing that the date is changing or that most people, including PLs don't even know what is going on. I get having to wait for VSP results, but if the fu--ing ceo says layoffs are a certain date, I would hope they would honor that statement. I'm just so stressed and over all of this bullsh-t.
