Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Why are you still at Nike if you hate it so much?

Why? The things people say about the company here are mind-boggling. So much hate, so much disdain... Wouldn't the logical thing be to leave if you hate it here that much?

Exactly! So many whiners show up here. I am convinced they fall into three groups.

  1. Disgruntled ex-employees who have nothing better to do.

  2. Adidas employees upset at having half the market cap and half the revenue of Nike even at Nike’s worst moment in the last 25 years.

  3. Trolls who live in mommy’s basement who get off on arguing.

Because I don’t have any marketable skills that another company would want, but I have mastered the art of brown nosing and blaming others for failures!

@fm lol most of the people you see walking around campus contribute nothing. if you've figured out a way to get the paycheck without sacrificing your integrity or your soul, good on you!

because last i checked, pure rage doesn't pay rent

what a privilege it must be to just jump ship every time you're not head over heels in love with an employer

work is a transactional relationship. you're selling your hours to Nike for a paycheck. Nothing more. if you think they care about you, you're wrong.

so get your paycheck, and continue calling out the bullsh*t

@a6 Imagine openly admitting you contribute nothing, abuse the perks, and survive by kissing management’s a-s—as though that’s a flex rather than a complete character reference.

@bw Ah yes, the classic strategy: beg for access, pretend it’s “insight,” then cosplay as a corporate as-----n from the comfort of your keyboard. Nothing screams credibility like a front-row seat, zero accountability, and the confidence of someone who has never built a damn thing.

I am waiting for that severance package, but my number is not being called. Maybe I should submit a speakup complaint. I hear it helps speed up the process. Doing the bare minimum until then. Being a high performer for more than a decade got me to nowhere.

Keep your enemies close. Hard to undermine the beast without access right?

@ac

Move on? For sure! Just as soon as you stop with your incessant bootlicking.

Do let me know if you ever become capable.

@ac Ex Nike person here - if you are so happy in your job then why are YOU lurking on here? This platform is for people to share their experience which for the most part is negative. This isn’t a forum where people profess their love for toxic leaders and a culture built on retaliation and egos. It’s a forum where current and ex employees share their thoughts and experience at Nike. Sounds like you might be the questionable one. I have a feeling that you (OP) are a person that is being hated on in this forum. You are likely one of the toxic ones that we all talk about! I bet I could guess who you are. #hater #toxic #truth

@OP it’s called needing a paycheck. Perhaps you might be unfamiliar with that idea or one of the chosen people at Nike taking RSUs without doing much. No matter what DD is coming to cut cut cut
