German semiconductor firm Infineon will close its Mesa facility by the end of September. This closure will result in the layoff of 98 employees. The site's operations, focused on preparing raw semiconductor wafers, will be transferred to external foundry partners. The company stated this move aims to enhance global manufacturing productivity and competitiveness. Infineon acquired the Mesa location in 2015, though the facility has been operational since 1997.
