I been voluntold that I'm the engagement chair for my team. I hate this stuff. I just wanna do my job and go home not get involved in all this stupid stuff.

@dw did you have to pay for your beverage? In compliance we have to pay for our own engagement snacks.
Yes! But treat as gathering intel and getting the tea from others.
It’s a super blast! A real return to form! Last time we had an outing everyone was like, “I’m so glad we have this! I’m so engaged! This is way better than higher pay!” I agreed with them, vocally, before taking a sip from my beverage container.

Not at all. It helps break up the monotony and provides a break from the stress of the day. My team does lunchtime trivia the 1st Friday of every month. It's always a blast. I'm really looking forward to Halloween when we do the trail of treats and the pumpkin carving and costume contests.
