Is it injustice and inconsistency that promotions come with perks? It’s not supposed to motivate you to want to quit; if anything, it should motivate you to work toward getting promoted.
You answered your own question: they are managing directors & you (we) are not. The rules are not the same & life isn’t fair. Move on. More important things to worry about.

Everyone knows executives do not have to follow the same requirements as us mere employees. I was asked if I wanted to relocate or be displaced due to relocation strategy. There are many, many senior leaders who still show as remote within my LOB.
