Thread regarding Omnicell Inc. layoffs

Outlook is Bleak

No pipeline outside of cabinet business and Titan XT is merely a software upgrade with new to customer hardware.

Layoffs in product and professional services drove most of the non-GAAP earnings last quarter. Costs are still through the roof and the level of attrition has created new issues with sales and projects that are problematic and expensive to turn around.

Can only assume and plan for more cuts in staff to make numbers in 3rd quarter.

Stock is worth $22 not the $36 it’s trading at right now. $60 a share is impossible now. Was that price 3 years ago - gone for good.

Titan XT is almost impressive, just not for the reasons leadership probably intended. Same goes for OmniSphere. 7+ years of development, hundreds of engineers spread around the world, and the big success story is… 4 whole customers? Small ones, at that. Quite the return on investment.

Hardware hasn't exactly inspired confidence either. A new device gets started, everyone gets spun up, and then sooner or later the plug gets pulled. Rinse and repeat.

At some point you have to wonder whether the problem is really the products or the way Product and Engineering are being run. The leadership reshuffling alone has been something to watch: a CPO brings in his own Cloud Operations VP, the CSO above him is gone, the CTO ends up reporting to the CPO, and suddenly the CPO becomes CPTO - all in roughly the span of a month.

Nothing unusual there. Just standard corporate governance. Totally.

And, of course, all of this is happening against the backdrop of repeated RIFs. But I'm sure the strategy is working exactly as intended.

What’s behind the strategy of laying off people then hiring for similar roles 6 months later over and over again?
