How many Indians are there at VMware who purchased fake degrees? And then used their mafia connections to quickly shuffle them into non coding positions like team lead, PM, mgr or any other position where the primary skill is bullsh-tting and kissing a-s because staying too long in coding or something with a measurable result means exposing their fraud ??
Every Indian who has a non US degree needs to provide traceable proof, because we already know now there have been many fake Indian institutions pumping out fake degrees purchased by Indians to undermine the immigration system ... and btw that makes that person a criminal.

WTF with the downvotes on the Indian nepotism, anyone who had worked at VMware starting around 2010 and wasn't Indian would know this for a fact. The place was wall to wall Indians. The only way that I would have stayed longer would have been if I were thinking to retire or change career. Layoff odds are high at AVGO, so the job and all its wonderful compensation that so many crow about on here will kick you to the curb one day. Then in the hunt for a replacement gig, BC on your resume will only land you at another cr-p company at best.

Not bad at all. The money will be less if you won the AVGO lottery but the increase in the quality of life in every other way is overwhelmingly positive once you are out of that cesspool. Imagine a new life not filled with toxicity, fealty, and cruelty.

Every company has problems, VMware did in many ways - Indian mafias can pop up anywhere because that is overwhelmingly how that culture operates. I wasn’t exposed to that at VMware. But now all mgmt is part of Kim Hock Un’s RGB.

If you have 10 years or more of your career left, plan an exit. Take some $ off the table, sure. But otherwise your skills will atrophy and worse, few will hire you (I wouldn’t) for staying so long as it shows bad judgement and lack of interest in your craft.

If anything it sounds as if Broadcom is the better place to be vs VMware. When I was there Indian nepotism was the absolute worst, if you were Indian you were able to get promoted for being 'good with git' while the work you are supposed to be doing gets dumped on someone else to fix, which you then in turn take credit for because your manager, director, vp are all from the same area , caste etc.

This is a true story, these people then moved on to greenfield projects while leaving an absolute mess with several P0 CVEs that I got dumped with starting on year 2. Then of course I would get blamed for the cr-p they stitched together and ran off. My career was suppressed the whole time there while grandstanders who talked a lot and did very little rapidly were promoted to Staff II, it was pretty traumatizing even to this day.
