Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HPE’s version of ‘care and compassion’

HPE: “We will treat all those transitions with the highest level of care and compassion.”
Translation:
We lead with empathy and compassion…
just kidding.
We ghost you, then act like you’re the one who did something wrong.
Nothing says “highest level of care” like a sudden calendar invite titled “Quick Sync” followed by radio silence and a severance PDF.
Anyone else getting the classic HPE special?

@10a

Antonio and the toxic among them do not appreciate the fruit of the labor that was sown.

Consider Zacchaeus in the Holy Gospel: the sycamore tree he climbed was not of his own planting. Another had set it in the ground, watered it, and caused it to grow, so that in the appointed time a man might rise upon it to behold Our Lord.

Likewise, there are those who now feast upon the fruit of the $60 stocks, yet the leadership shows no gratitude. They are glad to cast aside the very laborers whose toil brought the increase.

But God is not mocked.

Neri really said “diversity” then yeeted the people who built the results so he could install others by gender and fund them with the first group’s value. Not empowerment, just a soft parasitic handoff in progress clothing.

When a company says they care about you, they don’t.
When a company claims to care about climate change, and then requires office attendance, they are being manipulative.
When a company claims to have a social conscious, but cuts back on monetary matches, it is performative.

So, keep that in mind as they talk about AI allowing employees to perform other tasks. Sure, tasks that don’t involve paying you.

The only thing they care about is making themselves richer at everyone else’s expense. Take whatever you can get and do not look back.

Stock at all-time highs.
Congratulations to the corporate cowards and political as-----ns who underpaid everyone, underappreciated them, stole the credit, made the entire win about yourselves, then laid off the families who actually built it.
Enjoy the dirty money. You earned every drop of it the only way you know how.

HQ is straight performance. Folks up there talking about work all day, looking busy, and not getting a thing done, while the people who actually work get laid off.

Compassion doesn't scale. And people are so burned out at the rate of change that they can't even fake it any more. Money is the only thing left. Get all you can and move quickly on.

After being impacted by the recent changes in Marketing at HPE, I was struck by something that stayed with me.

Not once did I hear the words “we care about you and your family.”

Just a carefully worded HR script… followed by a PDF.

That moment clarified a lot for me.

I’m genuinely glad I’ve moved on. There’s a growing pattern of deeply concerning leadership behaviors at HPE that deserve far more scrutiny than they’re currently receiving. When Antonio is finally held accountable, the Board would be wise to treat it as the organizational emergency it is.

Sometimes the most valuable career lesson is realizing which environments no longer deserve your energy.

Onward.
