Getting extra help on overloaded tasks

I remember someone here posted how they were overwhelmed and got a few back ups to help with their tasks and it was great.

Im overwhelmed, voiced opinion to manager and now I’m in a position to get help from other employees (off shore) that I will train…and I’m wondering if training them on this would be me pretty much me training them to take over my job… sadly

Has anyone had stories like this? Did it work out for you?

I had one who learned everything really well and was quite good. They ended up taking the skills and getting a better role on a different team (good for them) and I now have two other helpers who unfortunately have not turned out to be as good.

Lots of repeating but if you’re lucky you will get someone who wants to learn and who will eventually get something out of it too (not costing you your job)

What @a6 said. 💯

Also, meet with them, record it and have AI summarize them make sure to back up the recording and save to a shared location.

When they start asking questions you’ve already answered, reply in email that you went over it already and refer them back to recordings. It will save you some time.

Good luck.

Train them wrong. The outcome is going to be the same - you are going to be replaced by these NPCs.

Not only in doing this will you yes, be training them to take over your job; but you will also be expending enormous extra amounts of time WASTED, in having to hand-hold them and in correcting their work, whenever they're "assisting" you.

You will go back and forth with them over emails which in normal situations would span hours or one day tops, to it now taking weeks and even months, due to time zone differences and sheer game-playing, laziness, denial, and incompetence. They will lie and say they understand what you're asking of them, then fail to hold up their end of things, and then they'll be pestering you for info. you've already given them, and then still won't deliver anything of worth, much less on time.

Trust and believe: it will be an exercise in futility, resulting in you being even more overwhelmed and aggravated than you are currently. This isn't hyperbole, it's reality.

"Help" from incompetents isn't help.
It's a hinderance.
