Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

AIOps

AIOps is a decent tool, but Kyndryl and Martin is marketing it as if it walks on water. Kyndryl has let go of highly skilled teams that used to implement AIOps, even today, implementing it is a mini-project in itself involving multiple teams who do not talk to one another. The tool is mostly read-only, with occasional CACF automation resolving certain used cases. 99% of the times the GTM opportunities in Bridge are useless and closed and closed as not applicable. iI’d be interested in knowing what others think of the tool? Keep in mind, Dynatrace has better capabilities.

Thing is a giant pile of steaming….

Nobody and I mean nobody wants it. Problem is Kyndryl pushes it at every opportunity but most companies don’t want to be tied to a single MSP. They want agnostic tooling that can be used by whoever they hire.

I was told to show it to clients all the time but the truth is that the clients don’t care. All clients want is their infrastructure to work (no incidents), costs to be reasonable and the company to be easy to work with. As long as you can provide those, the clients are happy. Nobody goes to the garage and has the mechanic take them to look at their wrench set.

Problem is, that Bridge isn’t an afterthought. The entire sales process is built around it. To implement AI Ops/Bridge is incredibly expensive. Kyndryl has created an over engineered mess that is impossible to modify to what the client wants. Those costs get added to any contracts which in turn makes Kyndryl more expensive than the competition and hence, they never win new contracts.

For all the talk, I’ve never seen this tool or bridge in actual use.

It seems as if the people developing/supporting it have no experience running client infrastructure/services. You have dashboards with made up metrics that takes reading 2 pages of documentation to understand. Heaven forbid something is wrong with the data, there's not enough detail to figure out what the problem is. Can't beat the full 24 hour inventory maintenance windows on Thursdays. They're not even used internally for compliance reporting. Any reporting an executive sees comes from Power BI.

It's garbage. Clients recognize this. Hence, no new clients.
