Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Do you want to get RIFed in Q4?

FIS has history of RIF-ing employees in Q4.
That way you lose year worth of 401K match.
Market is slow in hiring. Most companies are in holiday mode.
Usually this is done as revenge against employees.

According to my severance agreement, I will receive my 401k match in February 2027. I was laid off in June, so I should get about 5 months of matching. I moved all my 401k assets into a rollover IRA right after I got laid off, but the account is still active.

@a4 Adding to my initial reply. It is best to refer to the Separation of Employment Guide. There is language regarding your age and years of service if you leave on your own - such as if you retire.

@d2 If you quit, you don't get the match. If you are terminated via RIF you get the match.

@a4 I believe that is not true unless you are still employed as of Dec 31st. That's what was said last year for the 2025 401K match that was applied in March 2026.

The 401k match is still made if you keep your account active.
