Arizona employees — we see what’s happening.
Arizonans, we want to hear from you.
Leadership keeps telling us they “don’t know” what’s happening, but then how do they explain all the background changes?
You don’t make major structural changes unless you’re preparing for something.
And it’s starting to feel like leadership genuinely believes employees are too stupid to notice.
Arizona has been hit hard in 2026. Medicaid enrollment has been declining, and the state has dealt with the broader effects of immigration enforcement and ICE activity. Centene itself has acknowledged declining membership.
So if membership is declining, then let’s ask the obvious question:
Why are we outsourcing work while laying off the people who actually know how to do it?
Can someone explain the deal with Alorica?
Medicare appeals work was moved offshore to India, while former Centene employees were reportedly hired into those roles.
That doesn’t feel like a coincidence. It feels like a business strategy.
And Cognizant?
Same story.
The RIFs were presented as necessary business decisions to “save money,” but when the end result is fewer American employees and more work being moved offshore to cheaper labor markets, employees have every right to question what the real objective was.
Because let’s be honest:
This isn’t just about restructuring.
It’s about labor costs.
It’s about finding the cheapest way to get the work done.
And somewhere along the way, the people who actually keep the business running became nothing more than a line item on a spreadsheet.
The people with boots on the ground lose the most — and somehow they’re the people who are paid the least.
These aren’t numbers.
These are parents.
These are spouses.
These are people with mortgages, rent, car payments, groceries, medical bills and children who depend on them.
People who now have to sit across from their kids and say:
“I’m sorry. We can’t afford it this week.”
Milk.
Eggs.
Gas.
Groceries.
The basic things people shouldn’t have to choose between.
And while employees are being told to tighten their belts, executives continue collecting massive salaries and fighting over bonuses.
As Billie Eilish put it:
“If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?”
At what point is enough actually enough?
Centene talks about communities.
It talks about people.
It talks about improving lives.
But workers are part of those communities too.
What happens to the community when thousands of workers suddenly lose their income?
What happens to their children?
Their homes?
Their local economies?
Their mental health?
You cannot claim to care about communities while treating the people who live and work in those communities as disposable.
And that’s the part that makes this so infuriating.
We aren’t asking for special treatment.
We’re asking for transparency.
Tell us the truth.
If the work is being moved offshore, say it.
If the goal is to reduce American labor costs, say it.
If the RIF was ultimately about replacing higher-cost employees with cheaper offshore labor, say it.
Stop hiding behind corporate language.
Stop calling it transformation when employees can see exactly what’s happening.
Because employees aren’t blind.
We see the background changes.
We see the restructuring.
We see the outsourcing.
We see who gets cut.
We see who gets hired.
And we see who keeps getting paid.
But this time, we’re documenting it ourselves.
